well seen the 1st fawn of the year saturday, we were out horseback riding, and were going through a overgrown section of the pasture, when all of a sudden 5 ft in front of me the little guy jumpped up and ran off, wasnt even as tall as the weeds he was laying in... no sign of mama anywhere, but im sure she wasnt far away... glad the horse didnt spook from it, and the great hunting dog i have didnt even see the dang thing lol
My sister-in-law saw one behind our cottage 2 weeks ago. It was standing under Mama nursing, fawn was still wet.
we have seen a few at the farm in the last few weeks looking good for the fall hunt should be lots of deer to harvest in are area ,DUTCH

I saw tiny fawn tracks in the mud near a shallow creek last monday...no pics yet
I just seen a doe on the back side of my property that has triplets. Neighbour seen them a few weeks ago. This will be 5 yrs in a row we have a doe with triplets not sure if it's the same doe or not. Also have seen probly half dozen pairs in the local area. Seems to be a better winter than I thought, we had deer come right up to the house this winter to eat the cedars.
my wife met a little guy on the road the other day, had to stop ,and wait for it. No sign of the doe . There are adult deer tracks but so far no fawn tracks . old 243
Been seeing a couple does with fawns every morning for the last few weeks in the bean field behind my house. No need for trail cams, just binos to view from the deck.
Seen a nice little one on my way to work yesterday at highway 47 and Brock Road. . Stopped traffic dead for a few seconds. Did not take a pic as I was making sure mom was not about to come running out before I took off. Was pretty neat to see.
I don't think a lot of hunters realize what happened to our deer in the snow belt this past winter. We pretty much lost our entire fawn crop around Fenelon Falls. All I've seen to date are dry does, and very fews yearlings. Five game cameras at salt blocks say the same thing. I'm glad MNR cut the doe tag allocation for WMU75, and removed the late season ML hunt with addirional tags. The folks in Minden/Bancroft must be sleeping. WMU 60 should have been cut back heavily. They obviously didn't look at their own OWSI data from the past winter. Hope this upcoming winter is a mild one.
