http://www.ontario.ca/environment-an...e-policy-atlas, little work and you'll get used to program, quite nice actually, ton of data there. Hope this helps.
oh wow......I found the area I am interested in but cant seem to find any info other the concession, lot and township
I've also been looking I'm going to try that site also thanks!
Ive been looking at it and cant figure it out.....
I just tried it and it seems to be normal, but even slower. Sometimes you think it's not working Set the map layers, click on the legend tab, zoom in with your mouse wheel and there you go. Not a true topo map as it doesn't provide elevations but handy for sure.
Cheers
My combo is: Crown land, Google satellite and then the Canadian topo site. Between the three I can get some sense for what the cover is like. Then it's time for a drive and maybe a walk.
If you use this:
http://www.giscoeapp.lrc.gov.on.ca/w...er/viewer.html
And zoom in far enough the contour lines and elevations are shown.
Normally I use the crown land mapper first to find my potential area. Than I switch to the above link to get the topo.
I also suggest the BackRoad Maps I use it extensively, probably the most important map I have ever purchased.
Some on here think that you must be a hunter 24-7 365. Crown Land owned by all...From what I have read on this site , if you are not there before the crack of dawn, 2 weeks in advance, you should not hunt there! Most hunters I know, do not have a couple of weeks during the year, before the season to scout out where they want to go. Work all year , get 2 weeks to hunt, look at a map, go there. They have the same rights
to hunt that area as locals or regulars, who scout the area 12 months of the year. Not your land , not your deer! I have been confronted before on public land and backed off. That will never happen again , as I had-have as much right on-in that area as he- they do. A hunter had set up a stand on crown land for about 5 years and was upset that others walked through "his" spot... Ps. it is only 250 acres of Crown Land in that spot. It is 300 yards from my dock, Not small-big, enough to call your own. His for life ..why? We have talked and he said he- it was OK for me to hunt there AFTER he had got his bear and deer. This was-is the last year that I will let him control the only crown land within 20 miles. My stand will go up in April, and I will be there first. Can't wait to see if he checks with me before he hunts. Shoe on other foot anyone? Want hunting land for life...buy it!
