I saw this at costco and I was wondering if it was worth it for game?
I think it would be nice if you throw in a bit of marinade before freezing it would be good?
What do you think??

I wouldn't store meat in the freezer any other way..ALL my meat get vacuum sealed.
Wouldn't bother putting a marinade in with it, once the meat freezes there is no cell level activity, so there would be no tenderizing or flavour being added to the meat.
i know the marination proses wouldn't happen while frozen but it would while you thaw it.
Thanks MikePal
I'm all for vacuum sealing. But do a little product research before you by the FoodSaver Brand. I almost bought the Costco model a month or two ago... until I read dozens of unhappy reviews. It seems, like most products, the original was bulletproof and well worth the money, but recent models don't seem to have the same level of quality or performance.
You can always order them directly from the Foodsaver company. Go to their website and get on their mailing list and they will let you know when the units are on sale (& rolls).
We use ours all the time when buying meat in family packs and bagging smaller amounts or for any game. Definitely a good investment.
Your right, I had heard the same thing. I've been lucky and have been able to still find the old 'Black and Decker' sealer on Ebay...they stopped production a few years back but you can still find them. I picked up one a few months ago (for back up)..new in box for $20 including s/h.
My Costco foodsaver was returned once already. not super impressed with it. but they replaced it no problem.
I bought one from ct when it came on sale for $59 I think back in the summer, they come on sale a lot. I use it to freeze any meet or fish I'm not planning on eating right away, and to portion family packs. Has held up fine so far.
I have one that I also bought from CTR. Works fine for me and as said above is the only way to store game and fish in the freezer. Bags aren't cheap but still worth the cost.
I really like my food saver, just pay attention to the directions and make sure to give it breaks, the vacuum pumps can get hot in there and burn out if you go crazy with it.
I have been using mine for 3 years now, not a speck of wild game goes into the freezer without being vacuum packed, lasts years if it needs to.
