i'm working and looking out my window. it's calm and the sun is peeking through the clouds. my bet is right now a few animals are being wacked as they look for food between rains.
High wind and rain is not the most responsible time to be bow hunting (IMO) hard to track and pretty good chance of arrow not flying true.
Or trees falling on you.
Was thinking of going for a sit today but with this weather I think I'll wait till Wednesday.
Deer may move but most times they bed down and wait it out. Not safe to be in a tree. Easy to fall out and really their will be better days to hunt. I find in the winter months some days when the wind is calm deer are every where and crappy days like today it is better to stay home.
Safety is important, obviously. But I will say that some of my best hunts have been in terrible weather. Animals don't "hunker down" nearly as much as people think.
Rain/snow 'terrible weather' can make for great hunting. Wind, not so much though, because deer cannot hear because of the noise and cannot notice motion as easily because of the wind. Wind will tend to make them hunker down. Rain - not a lot of difference. Snow will make them wander about stupidly.
currently 75km gusts here. I drove past a bean field and there was 4 deer out in it...
I'd like to know what my arrow would do at 40 yards in 75km cross wind LOL
