I'm headed to Bird's Eye View in the morning. This is my very first pheasant hunt, I'm going with my buddy. Any tips? I've never hunted pheasants - only used them in training.
I am no expert, but I would recommend keeping your dogs working tight to you.
I have a chessie which normally only works as a retriever. I had him "hunt it up" and he flushed all planted birds he came across. Was incredibly windy and some birds got out of range really fast.
