Anyone been fishing perch out of Gilford?
I have a hut booked for this Friday with Terry Goy for my son & grandson's yearly trip, but haven't seen any posts lately on any of the boards on the catch at Gilford lately.
If so, what's working - minnows, grubs, jigs???
Any tips would help, as its the only trip we can make there this year.
check the imcoe forum but try to get there early an tr for the deepest water he has................good Luck........minnows nd jigging rap have een working for me....
Terry Goy does a great job and has nice huts. Perch were biting this weekend on small jigs & minnow heads, lots of small ones and a few jumbos. I'm sure you'll have a good time.

Hey, it's quite simple. I like to use small spoons with treble hooks that are small as well. Marabou crappie jigs tipped with minnows will work too. Just get out there and try. Push comes to shove, just put a minnow on a hook.
Drove 4 plus hours for Lake Simcoe "jumbos". 100's of perch about 4-5 inches long. Will scratch it off my bucket list. We fished near Terry's huts.
Thats the norm i find this time of year it gets better as it gets closer to the time huts have to be off the lake mid march. And even better in the bay as long as the ice is safe after that.Quote:

if making the long drive check and see what depths they have their huts at.

If your fishing off of gilford road around the hut rentals you will catch fish but not many of a decent size.
12 fow is not deep enough. Fish 25 to 30 fow and you should do well.
