Have seen awesome cut performed by the Rage Turkey Broadheads and also have had Slick Trick recommended by a bow hunter who hunts everything form turkey to moose, swears by them, likely my next purchase.
I shoot slick tricks now, but after allot of review, it seems a body shot on a turkey is not ideal. I know a few guys have posted vids here using the magnus bullhead and guillotine for head shots
NAP spitfire turkey heads
gator XP they fly like a field point.
Your right TR, the body shots aren't ideal....years ago I watched two birds fly away with my arrow stuck it them (my dog help me recover one). I have since either shot it up the Texas red eye or the neck/head. It's tough, took two shots at a Tom once both missed his neck when he moved slightly. He had no idea what happened and just carried on...
I have been using the Muzzy Turkey Thumpers for yrs, however looking at them in the box with all my other broad heads pretty much anything with a good cutting surface would work nicely if you get a clean hit on the head/neck.
I have had good luck with Slick Tricks, you just have to hit them in the right place.
I have used the Rage Turkey Broadheads and they worked well, but I also have the Hypodermic's which have also performed for me so.... I will be using one of those two, just not surer which one as of yet.
I have yet to hunt turkeys but really hope to do so sooner than later. I have always been a fan on sharp cut on contact broadheads. Slick tricks are a great broadhead. For turkeys I would probably go with a decapper. I have had a few friends who hunted turkeys with bows and had lost birds or long retrievals and almost losing birds. One guy ways switching to a shotgun and giving up the bow for turkeys. Me personally I would choose a decapper. Dead turkey or miss.
I have posted this before, but this should help and refresh a lot of people who are bow hunting turkeys. Its all in the placement like on any other game you hunt. Goodluck and i hope this helps. The music in the Video is annoying but some might like it LOL
