"THAT OTHER HUNTING FISHING STORE" in Richmond. Good prices? Service?. Tell me about it
I go there on a regular basis. They have competetive pricing and a knowledgeable staff. They also have a good stock of ammo. Great spot if you are into box/xbow hunting.
That isn't quite what I'm hearing. You wouldn't be part of their part would You? Same area
Russell and Richmond aren't really the same area. A good 30-40 min drive between them.
I've had a few issues with TH&FS. I won't go into any great detail, except to say that they simply don't seem to care if they retain my business or not.
I'll stop in from time to time, just because i like visiting hunting stores... but i've given up expecting great deals or even being recognized, if not as a person, at least as a good customer with a substantial spending history.
Actually You're not far off. I submitted an email with a question. My response was
"Sorry that you feel that way but we have no idea that these two bows are the same according to you. We were never told by our suppliers of this and I will make some calls to find out. But with people like you that assume and jump to conclusions and attacking us this way I would definitely prefer not to have you as a customer anyways. We have a lot of great customers that appreciate what we do and understand that we do not know everything about all the product we carry, we do the best we can.
Management"

IOW You sked if the one bow was just an off shoot of the other. We charged You more. So the best defense is a good offense
I don't expect any preferential treatment when I go there even though I have dropped quite a large chunk of change on their doorstep, but I do like to be acknowledged (and I am normally).
I personally like the Old Co-Op better but there is a greater variety of inventory at the Hunting Store
The Old Co-Op is further out of my way than I'll typically go... however i chatted with the lads at the Carp Outdoors show last weekend and was really impressed by their friendliness, genuine discussion and willingness to pretty much do (or at least look into possibilities) anything to get/keep your business.
I'll definitely be swinging out to see them prior to turkey season opener.
The young fella Wes lives down the street from me. Portly fella with red hair and normally some kind of beard. He is very geniune and is an avid hunter and shooter.
Pat, the owner, is nice fellow as well. You just won't see him there often.
North Gower and Richmond are almost exactly the same distance from Hunt Club and Bank.
I am not a fan of this particular store as well. I needed a part for a magazine of mine, they had the magazine for 3 weeks and never even pulled it out of the bag. They had a rifle that I wanted to look at but it was rusted all around the stock and they wanted way too much money and no budging. They also did not really seem like they wanted to leave their chairs to even ask me if I needed help.
Kemptville CT is not cheap but they have really worked with me. The Old Co-op has people who really want to build a client base, I like them.
