Last fall I was given a 5hp Gamefisher air cooled outboard. It was sold by Simpson Sears. Today I dug it out and tried to find the gas/oil mix but had no luck. It is probably 20-30 years old, in very good shape but there doesn't seem to be any serial number or other details. I figure I will try 40:1 synthetic mix with high test gas unless anyone has a better idea.....
32:1and use an oil designed for air cooled engines as compared to tcwIII which is designed for the lower operating temps of liquid cooled engines.

These were made for Sears by Eska using Tecumseh motors. Agree use 32:1 and hi test.
Sounds like my 40:1 chain saw mix should be pretty close...
Should be close enough. Make sure you run premium. Also, if you need parts, I have half a dozen of these things.Quote:

We always used to run everything at 20:1 when Dad was doing the mixing. Then we started to use detergent motor oils, next came outboard motor oil and things got complicated....:rolleyes:
Now it's air cooled oil in hi test gas....my old Elto wouldn't recognize a modern diet......:o

Always ran 91oc at 40.1 with shell 2 stroke marine oil. Oil is a lot better now a days, I dont think theres a need for any richer than 40.1 unless it really tired
