Black LED trail camera advise

I'm in the market for a good trail cam. I've all but given up on them.......I've owned 5 units over the years, every one that I've owned spooks the big bucks at night. I'm considering trying one more. I know the red led is no good for my application. Anyone using a black led model which remains unnoticed to the big bucks at night or at last light? Day pics have never been a problem for any of my units, but the red led light at night turns the big mature boys inside out. Please help. Thanks John.

I've had this conversation about the cameras and the LEDs etc. I haven't had any problems with older and newer models spooking game. My hunting friends and their friends who use cameras have had mixed results. One thing that was similar/constant in the conversations from complaints of game being spooked and no photos or videos was that the people over frequented the checking of their trail cams. Too much scent in area and on camera itself, as well as who knows how many times animals may have been jumped by people walking in. One guy was going in every week or two. Too much disturbance. This is my opinion and from what I've learned over the years about not spooking animals.

I've been Using Moultries w/ red LEDs & haven't noticed them "spooking" deer. Maybe they're too interesting in the licks that they're at.

Spypoint has the black LED ones, not even a hint of light.

There are many black LED on the market, and have dropped marginally in price, but I'm really hesitant on buying one unless I can without a doubt know they will not spook big bucks. I have video after video of big bucks turning inside out when the red LED lights up.

I believe that even with the black flash the animals still hear the click of the shutter. I've been using the black flash Moultrie units for a few years now and still get a fair amount of pics where the animals are staring at the camera. Sometimes it takes a coupla shots to have them look in the direction of the camera though. So I don't think they have seen it till the shutter clicks. I have also heard the shutter when I have paid close attention and listened real good.

Some of my best pictures of deer have come from my old Moultrie, sounds like an old 35 mm camera when it goes off :)

I have an IR red out for the past few years and I still get deer looking at the camera but it doesn't seem to bother them, it's usually fairly close to them and low on a tree so that even though it catches their attention, they don't see it as a threat.

I'm going to buy a 'black' this year and see if it makes a difference.

Like I said earlier, day pics(or videos) are not a problem. Time lapse(again during daylight hours) are not an issue, but when the red LED light up, the big bucks will turn and hightail it. I sure hope someone chimes in with their own field experience on black LED on big bucks.

I currently have a black light Spypoint and a black light Simmons on the same tree pointing in the same direction. I want a true comparison of the two for my own curiosity. The part that won't help you much is that I chose the spot because there is an overlap of deer activity and human activity, so they're used to human scent around and cars going by not too far away.

I have tested the black lights of both units in the dark and I can't see anything but can't speak for the deer.

I like my bushnell and the warranty is great. I actually got a black led cam from them because they didn't have any of the ones I was brining back that was broken.
