Contact the Kemptville Mnr for more info. Map and info should be posted in the Long Sault Parkway and in Ingleside at the Camp grounds 1st week of September. D
Dom:
That info is the most guarded, best keep secret in town. It took me two years to get it. I finally was able to get a website and print off the map and rules one year. Have not been able to find it again. If you have no luck, I have a 2009 map you can copy.
I hunted area many years ago.Think there's 20 spots in two separate areas. The good spots are usually taken by locals who would park vehicle in spot for desired Blind nite before (that's how spots were reserved/by parking by stake designating that Blind).Don't know IF this has been rectified. Was a pain to drive all the way there to find "Good" spots gone.So my friends and I found more accessible areas nearby our homes. No Blinds per say,you build your own within certain distance of corresponding stake along shore. When hunting was Good it was REALLY Good. There's a Map at each site showing location of stakes. Good Luck.
There is three places where the maps are located. Long Sault Parkway s/e corner where the old road goes into the water. The stakes are at the beach and has a good boat launch. Second place is the campsite at Ingleside, map s/e corner, stakes and launch are there. Next place is the campsite before Morrisburgh , map etc at boat launch. Not as busy after opening day as it once was. Mnr will send you a map by email if requested. D
Not sure how it is now - used to be first to show up gets the spot except for opening day. There was a draw in Ingleside a couple of weeks in advance for spots opening day.
No more draws, first come now. It has lost it's popularity a while back. Educated birds that fly just out of range and old sunken stone fence rows that eat props.
I haven't been there the last two seasons, but used to go to hunt divers in December. I believe there is only one blind that you can walk to, all the others are boat access only.
The billboard type maps at each access point are self explanatory and show the blind locations, however the actual blinds were not very well marked when I was there. No hunting is allowed except from the blind locations.
Both these posts are pretty well spot on. At the three locations you will find a map, and a word document outlining the 'rules'. I usually stop by one of the locations noted above between Labour Day and Duck Opener and take a picture of the map and the rules. Than I at least have a copy on my person (phone).
Pertinent rules:
- Vehicles cannot be parked at a stake prior to 0400 (they don't want you camping overnight)
- Maximum of 2 persons may hunt at each stake, and must hunt within 9m of the stake.
I used to frequent the 'blinds' relatively often, but much less so the past few years. There are good shoots to be had, but lots and lots of frustration to be had too.
Also,
There's a 4th location with the sign/rules/parking stakes. Along Cty Rd 12, a few 100m South of the train tracks.
