Has anyone made their own extension pole for Lucky duck motorized decoy?
Think I need to get longer pole than the one that came with the decoy.
Any idea on how to make one?
Thanks.

I just made a 4 ft extension pole out of a curtain t rod I found in the basement. I drilled a hole near the top so it would snap in and sprayed it with bed liner. Works like a charm, even in the high winds we ha today. I hope my wife didn't need that curtain rod.

Camo gorrila tape and any extension pole you like. Works like a charm. Just tape the mounting pole to the extension pole. I've used a 10 foot poplar and it worked great.
What about the other side...where did you find the snap pin mechanism so it clips into the original tubing below? Or did you just push the curtain rod in tight with no pin at all, hoping it doesn't come out by itself when pulling it out of the mud?
I used a 10' 1/2" EMT
Hammer one end so it is pointy
And your done
I hunt with two guys who made extension poles using copper pipe. There was no need to drill anything as the original pole just slide inside the copper pipe. As well, no attempt to camo tape the pipe as the colour is dark enough and rather dull.
I happened to have one length of 1/2" EMT in the garage and tried it, but the EMT and Lucky Duck pipe are about the same diameter. Don't slide into each other.
I just used a broom handle. It slid right over the original pole. Drilled a hole and put a shirt bolt in place to hold it. I has the spiral end out so I just sharpened it to stick in the muck.
3/4 EMT, paint camo. Works like a charm. I carry 5 and 10ft lengths in the boat. No pin.
X2 on 3/4" EMT
