Saw two scrapes on Sunday... one of the scrapes was in the exact same spot as the previous 2 seasons... under a balsam branch... good size too... the other was just 7 or 8 feet away and very fresh
I am set up about 45 yards away or so...
Anyone seeing activity yet?
no rubs or scrapes in the area where i am at present. very little sign. only seen 1 buck and a doe thus far since Oct 2! But these deer move the ausauble river alot so they could be more near the pinery provincial park, or could be about anywhere. corns down and more coming down, so should start seeing more movement
I havent seen any yet. Having said that i havent been out looking for them. I have a short walk in to my stands and try to stay out of the bush unless im checking cameras or hunting.
So perhaps I got lucky to see them... or earlier than usual... this spot is seems very promising... every year I want to hunt it but never set up there. I am going to set up for sure this year. Seems like a classic run...

I found 5 fresh scrapes along a picked corn field this morning. Thy look to be made fresh this last night.so I will be hunting the next few days as the weather looks good. .Dutch
Found a few small scrapes at the beginning of Oct. in an area where they always seem to appear early and found another in a totally different location last weekend. All of the scrapes I find early in my area seem to be small and don't seem to get revisited very often.

I've read that bucks don't scrape often during hunting hours... so almost pointless to hunt them.. But, I am looking for anything brown this year as I've yet to kill anything with my bow. If it's brown....
Seen a few scrapes and had a small 6 pointer out walking across a bean field like he was on a mission. Given the time of 5:30 pm and his distinct walking style, I think he was looking for some early love... :)
Edit: I agree with dutch...this weekend should be good....
Splaker, get in there early and watch that trial, if one buck is using it, you can but others will too.... I have seen many bucks freshen up their scrapes during legal light.....What's the saying.... If you sit they will come....
