Manitoba Upland Hunt Photos
I packed up my 9 month old puppy, hopped a Westjet flight to Winnipeg and found myself in bird paradise!
Belle and I were hosted by Craig Koshyk, who some of you might know as the author of the book Pointing Dogs - Volume One: The Continentals. He's also an amazing photographer and captured a few shots of our adventure that I thought I would share.
LA BELLE SAISON by Craig Koshyk
The photos from my trip start under the heading "Smiles, Miles and Poutine". I'm the one with the perma-grin. :D My pup, Belle is featured further down, in a green collar, retrieving a woodcock.
In all, we hunted woodcock, a lot of snipe, a few sharp tailed grouse and ruffed grouse.
We hunted with Weimaraners, including one longhair, Zeiss, who is Belle's dad. The first photo is me, thrilled that I shot a woodcock over 16 year old Souris. The brown dog with the 80's hairdo, that's a 12 year old Pont Audemer spaniel named Uma. I'm sure not many can say they've hunted snipe over a Ponto!
Hope you enjoy the pics!
