well we could increase our building standards, which would create jobs including PS for additional regulation, more taxes (carbon tax, fuel tax, something new tax, etc.) or even better we do what he (who else could it be...) said at the summit last week:

I suppose if we went back to a population density and technology level in Canada when indigenous people were the only ones in this country, our damage to the environment would be minimal. seriously, besides positive headlines, now they have a justifiable reason for increasing taxation (in whatever form).
and to come back to the natives have done such a great job for thousands of year, so did all the Europeans for thousands of years too. for example, the Spanish Inquisition didn't harm the environment, so why not have another one? and to be fair to everyone, let's take another absurd religious interpretation this time?
He must mean way back in the day when indigenous people were using such efficient means of sustenance hunting like buffalo jumps or pushing deer into rivers and then clubbing them while they swam. But I guess if you honor the animal afterwards with a spiritual ceremony around firelight some politician 400 years later will say you and your tribe mates took care of the land. Don't get me wrong. I am not slandering indigenous peoples, simply politicians who use them as tools to promote their agenda. The indigenous peoples used whatever techniques they had to in order to survive. However, let's not revise history to make it seem like they were a group of good guardians of the land.Quote:
