Pretty sure most social workers don't earn 80k.
Pick any area, anything...to reduce the funding and you are laying off lots. Only alternative are hammer people more, or reduce govt cost but avoid layoffs as much as possible.
And it's also unacceptable to use the power of influence to favour elections.
