Hydro 1

Did you happen to catch tonites news. This guys answer to hydro rates going up was because of the mild winter and our revenue wasn't what we expected it to be, thus the hike in our billing. To me that sounds like it doesn't cost anymore to produce a greater amount of energy than a lesser amount, so we once again take it in the butt. My hydro bill has normally run around the $120.00 every month, this months bill was $155.00 and expect it to rise again next month than again in November. I'm about fed up with this provincial and federal government. Neither of them could lead a horse to water let alone this province or country.

Dammed if you do, dammed if you don't. It's a union thing, they have to make money to pay them. But, but, we're supposed to cut back on energy use and save, so they simply screw us the other way. I think everyone should simply say (vulgar word) to hydro one and not pay their bills for the next six months, sooner than later they'll have to cave in. Can't turn off all of residential Ontario.

It's like that with water in Ottawa. Too many people conserving water, so they jack up the price to compensate for less revenue.

Beyond me why this province has not revolted against this corrupt government, its impossible to get ahead. If you want an eye opener look at all the Hydro One employees making hundreds of thousands doing jobs like shift manager, or assistant to a manager. Many are making over $300,000 doing jobs the rest of us would feel lucky to have at a third of the pay.

It's all a steaming pile of horse dung.

When the metering/taxing of well water happens... we'll just bend over and take that too. Canadians will NEVER have the backbone to actually do anything, about anything.

Beginning to wonder M if a good number have the "integrity" let alone back bone.

we do the vehicles for hydro and opg you should the money they spend on them if the guy dosent like the running boards we will put a better set on for him, one guy wanted to make sure the seat reclined enough for some reason zzz . we even made two trucks the same for one person the best is they order trucks with upgraded tires from dealer then when we get them we upgrade again. did some work at pickering and you wouldn't believe the people in there that do nothing they sent me to polish the large emergency trailer worth about 1000000 and had two of their employees stay there to get me stuff if I should need it. they need a good house cleaning at these places

The local government did that to us as well. "Conserve water, conserve water. Don't pour stuff down the drain if it doesn't need to be treated, blah, blah, blah." Within two years, the wastewater charges went up substantially, because the costs went up because they had extra people manning treatment plants that were not being utilized fully.

The contracts that have been signed by hydro one would put any other company out of bussiness

This is from the news release of the OEB. Nothing like being rewarded for doing your part for the environment. Maybe if everyone became less energy efficient, we could prevent further increases.:rolleyes:

Ontarians consumed less electricity than expected over the recent milder winter. As a result of lower usage, Regulated Price Plan (RPP) prices did not recover the full cost of serving RPP customers. One of the main reasons prices are increasing in May is to recover this shortfall.

Household consumption has been declining and successful conservation programs are a contributing factor.
