If you could do it all over again, were a walleye fisherman, and had the funds, what kind of boat and motor combo would you buy?..and why.

I'd buy the same as I have, now, only brand new,16' alum tiller Bass boat (likely Legend or Lund),30HP Merc 4-stroke instead of 2 stroke,bow-mounted 24V MotorGuide troller. Total cost including trailer is under $12K,won't break the bank.
20ft lund or alumacraft Tiller.
Ranger 620FS
Except big water.
I have a 16ft deep and wide starcraft tiller that is very versitile, but you really have to pick your days on big water. It can handle some rough water, and I can run it in rough water, but I don't recommend it. That said, I do go out on Lake O once in a while with it, and hunt lake St. Clair with no problems. Just have to be watching the weather.

Oh ya me too. Ive never been scared on the kawarthas, and i fish simcoe a fair bit too with no worries. Lake O as well, but pick my days.

I had been land locked with my boat for the last 30 years on Lake Joseph.
Decided to sell the cottage and boat , snowmobiles etc.
So, I'm starting from scratch also.
Bought a new boat ( 18'7" LUND IMPACT ) and now I have to have it reloaded with all new gear before spring.
Hoping to finally hit new waters instead of the same old thing weekend after weekend.
Sinker, see you out there somewhere, sometime.
Simcoe for spring perch?
