I'm sure Kathryn McGarry is a decent person, however all of her experience and expertise is in health care. Kathryn McGarry should be the minister of health not the MNRF. Having her in her current position shows poor judgement on the part of the Premier and the Liberal caucus.
Long gone are the days when a minister would have some kind of knowledge about the ministry they are assigned to. This is true for all parties. We can see what kind of mess we are in because of it.
Thanks for stating the obvious, you could use that sentence for any Minister in any field.
How much traction do we need to impeach a government? Why hasn't this been looked into as an option?
For years now a ministers function is more that of managing finances than it is of making decisions pertaining to the ministry they're in charge of. Decisions made by any ministry are more the function of the current government and their financial constraints. It all rolls downhill.
Pretty much Sawbill. Though it has to be said. All governments have an army of civil servants. Who, while they may largely be constrained to "making it so". They do, or are supposed to help with policy from the background. Be they economist in finance (no finance minister for example can do it all himself, or whatever. No government comes in and replaces thousands of worker bees.
In this day an age of Donald Trump, JT, possibly Kevin O'Leary. Lol, if we don't need people who can run countries, surely the people needed to run ministries need even less. Just have to be a good party member often with ties to the top of the food chain.
Think glen T from Sudbury and energy. He sure brought a lot of votes with him.
There is nothing in Ontario which would allow an elected official to be recalled by the electorate; let alone an entire government. Since our only recourse at this time is to vote them out, that is what we have to do. However, it seems the majority of the electorate in Ontario have the memory spans which rival goldfish, I won't hold my breath. Furthermore, as bad a shape Ontario is in, how long do you think it will take the next government (assuming one of the other parties are able to form a government) to reverse where we are?Quote:
