Well as the Arctic Vortex recedes, it'll be interesting to see if an almost full month of sub -15 temps will have affected the Tick populations.
My wife decided to keep the lads on their Bravecto year round this year because of fears that we were having a late fall and a forecasted early spring.
It's getting worse every year, wonder what will happen if these cold temps don't work to knock them back.
From what I've read harsh winters have very little effect on tick populations as they are dormant anyways.
Your right...I always thought they died off in cold temp, I'm so disappointed...

Ticks are hard to kill, my daughter pulled one off her dog and put it into an airtight pill bottle and forgot about it for over two weeks , when she finally remembered it , it was still alive. Mind you this was during the summer and it was in a hot vehicle .
If they can withstand extreme heat and no oxygen , I am sure that the cold won't affect them much.
Just picked up another Seresto collar this weekend for my dog for that very reason. She will be wearing it year round and I will not take any chances considering the areas I hunt.
