The most unusual aspect is that over the period of time when the blood trail was very plain I did not find anyone tracking this animal, I,m sure that I found were the shot was taken from, and from that point there were footprints heading to the road were the vehicle tracks were in the snow. I called MNR before starting to track the animal, just in case they would want to be involved because of the amount of blood with no trackers. As this was a tract of Simcoe county forest I thought that is what I should do. The sad part of this is that I never received a call from a C.O. and I do not believe that was because of a lack of interest but a shortage in staff at that time of year.
Why would anyone shoot a deer and not even walk over to were the blood trail started....30 yards?
