How is the sap flowing from your trees?
A buddy of mine in Lombardy has been busy so far. Helped him put up 226 buckets near the end of February. As of last Monday he had finished 22 liters of syrup and had 700 liters of sap in storage waiting to get boiled. The funny thing is last weekend it should of been too cold to run but his buckets were full. Turning out to be a good season so far.
We have been boiling for the last two weeks, going to be a very good year I think!
I am helping my neighbour, collected 40 gallons of sap at 3:30pm today, he does not have a lot of taps in and it was only 1C, things seem to be doing ok but this coming Sunday looks to be a very good day.
My buddy is now up to 52 liters of syrup finished. That was his total from last year so things are going well so far this year. Will be giving him a hand this weekend so hopefully will have a good boil while enjoying some beverages.
Just north of Barrie it was good late April but it stopped flowing since, north wind and everyday below 0.

"The neighbour has a 100L goal this year, it is a lot of boiling, he is too far to walk home though so not too many beverages for me, ha ha ha."
My buddy's goal for this year is 150 liters. He is planning on using his profits to buy a new welder to make his own upgrades on his set up. I'm about an hour drive away but luckily the farm house is only a 200 yard stumble away lol
