Going to the bottom you can see the "benefits" of the Libs to the teachers, a whole bunch of elementary/secondary school teachers... I wonder what the count it by profession.

Eyebrow raising
More than a dozen TTC collectors appear on the 2017 Sunshine List, with one raking in more than $130,000.

Toronto’s top cop
Police Constable Virani Abdulhameed accumulated $245,611.73 in salary in 2017. By comparison, Chief Mark Saunders brought in $337,744.78.

Gone but not forgotten
Ex-TTC head honcho Andrew Byford earned $346,791.51 to keep Toronto moving.

Lots on the list are worth $100k but likely more not worth it. Many get there through overtime. Hard to criticize someone willing to work the extra hours. Cops, nurses no problem. Teachers? Ehh....

Ya teachers don't get paid for overtime....or there would be a lot more teachers on that sunshine list...

I think it would be interesting to have an additional column showing how much overtime people are working.

The Sunshine List is basically irrelevant having not been inflation indexed since its initiation. It's always good to raise ire against public servants every year though.

There is $16,000,000,000+ in wages on that list alone for the government ... it isn't irrelevant. It is still twice the national average but it should be increased.

Or let's put it into perspective per person ....$16,000,0000,000/13,600,000 = $1176.47 so say a family of 4 is making the average... which was in the 70s so we can call it $80k with the wage increases that is about 6% of their GROSS wage.

Now we know they have hired thousands more, including the 175 job police so although it isn't as shocking a number as it was a couple decades ago it is still symptomatic of the spending with a firehose tactics of the lieberal's.

You need to look at the impact and big picture... the fact the lines should be 125,000 or even 150,000 .... so, the relevance is the total, who etc. That a police, nurse, doctor etc. managed to get to $100,000 by working... good for them... an elementary teacher.... that seems a bit high, others put in overtime ... they WORKED for it... good for them! Most relevant is that the CEO of a public company is making way more than the same job elsewhere and then throw in some of the others .... that is VERY relevant.

With annual inflation over 21 years factored in that would take it to around $145,000.

Many of the CEO's for these public corps in fact make substantially less than the equivalent position in the private realm. Now, should they make as much as they do? Probably not, since decisions go to a board of directors etc. and the CEO is generally a figurehead.
As for workers on the list...everyone has their own 'scale' they use for determining what their worth is based on one's personal experiences. Does a cop deserve >$100,000? Depends on whether I generalize them as all heroes or or as wasting time standing around during Santa Clause parades.
What I'm saying is that one cannot simply lump all doctors/nurses/police as "worth" being on the list and teachers/labourers as not.

I know of postal workers, (delivery), who make more than100 grand. They walk from dawn till dusk. More power to them.
