Recently I spotted what I thought was a wild boar in the vicinity of Big Gull Lake and Hungry Lake in Central Frontenac Township. Although I had a good look, it was a short look as wild life don't always pose for you. Has any one else in that area of the Province spotted any wild boars?

In the us people pay to hunt them. If they are that big of a problem why isn’t hunting them free or pay you to get them. Some places want a grand or more.
We've seen something that look like "root pits" in several different locations around our stompin' grounds in Clarington and southern Peterborough County in the last couple of years that have lots of smaller cloven hoof prints in the them,but,we've never seen Hogs. The "root pits" look like someone took a cultivator to them,completely different than what a big buck would leave.....enough that we now actively watch for them. I won't hesitate to shoot 'em. They're easy to field dress and cut up. I've had smoked Boar hams and back bacon. It's sure better than store bought...IMHO,of course.:moose:Quote:

Trimmer, if you think you got boar then the fastest way to know would be to put out a feeder and trail cams near the pits. If nothing else you'll have nice pics of deer.
