I plan on walking more of the trails when i go in there again next week... i checked my trail cams and did all that before i spoke with the landowner, i was out there pretty early ( before it got too hot) and didn't want to wake them... i am considering getting written permission this way we all ( there are 7 of us in the group spread out over his 3 properties) have a copy on us... i noticed that there is a spot where the main trail forks off, i noticed today that it looks like tracks went down there.. i will go down there and take a closer look next time i am in there.. the land is not posted, but we have signs here that i will bring out next week and see if it is okay with him that we put them out at the points where i can see he is entering/exiting the bush... i don't know honestly what he was doing in there.. originally, i assumed this was a guy that was in cutting wood .. he has leather work gloves, and looks like a shovel or axe in his trailer... i never noticed any sign of tree's being cut so i will have to look into it further next time in... i would say the bush is about 40 acres, so it's not a huge bush but it's decent sized.. i planned ( if i ever saw him) to name the owner of the bush because only we would know that the owner is now the son as his father is in a long term care facility... i am , like i mentioned, going to type of a letter stating we have permission, the names of everyone in the group, all he has to do is sign his name and that should be suffice.. now that i know he has NO right being in there, i am going to make a good point of checking the area good and see if i can find what he would be doing in there.. i find it odd that my landowner has had this farm in his family for over 100 years, and he has run it personally for over 35 years and he has never seen this guy before... all these farmers see each other and talk, so if a long time farmer doesn't know someone it is concerning.. also, this land is not anywhere near public land.. no real spots that i can see that he would come from.. our road is a dirt road but all around us is paved highway... i will have to look closer when i am in there next.. he is in there doing something.. he has to be close too because like i said, last season i had his dogs in there running the bush but never saw him or heard him... so he has to be close, but it's odd the farmer has no clue who he is... weird...
