100 acre hard woods
I just signed the papers today and paid for the property. I don’t get our enough, but it seems like most of the locals seem to like to hunt my property. I plan on developing, so their’s going to be some disappointed hunters. Next cutting in 12 years or so.
I’m going to clean out all the skitter trails and plant white clover on the trails. Double red clover in some areas and the ultimate 2.5 acre soya bean field. I’m big on ponds too ( 2.5 acres”

Where did you buy in Minto? IS this for yourself or are you also going to use it for guiding?

Sounds damn exciting. WTG. I bet your mind is going full bore now lol. It will also be a good time to meet your new neighbours and get that issue out of the way right off the bat. Do you plan to post it? As for your skidder trails you'll have to make sure there is enough soil and equally important enough sunshine to sustain good growth, if the canopy is too thick it will be poor.
Sure sounds like fun. I take it there is water on the property if you want to put ponds in? That's a bonus.
So what are your ultimate plans for hunting the property, as far as game goes?
As far as cutting the property in twelve years, what kind of harvest do you expect?
Good luck with it all, specially the locals.

Sounds great. Good luck! As an aside the thread title made me think of Christopher Robin and this guy playing in the "100 acre woods:"

Congratulations.
My suggestion; Establish a strong sign presence quickly.
We have had to call out the OPP for tresspassers- proper signage is our only defense.
Then they can lay two charges- $65.00 for Tresspassing and another charge if they fail to leave.
Figure its just growing pains as we are relatively new owners as well

The property is in Bronson east of Chipman not far from the house. The property is a mixed hardwood with some nice old straight pines and spruce. Quite a few apple trees that need tlc.400 % profit in 12 years didn’t interest me at all. I did hear their were some color phased bears in the area, but their are some huge bucks and their my target.
My mind is just off the charts with all the stuff,I need to do. My vision is a slate drive way going into the woods with the house built of cedar and slate on the out side. I made connections for the cedar and slate .The house will over look a 2-3 acre trout pond. Hopefully,it will draw in the ducks and geese.

I called a buddy and he’s building me a gate in a few days.

Wow that’s great, sounds like a perfect place for a hunter to live. But if it was my place I would be working on grouse habitat.
