Still at it
Last year after buying a new coyote set up and have no luck. I went Saturday and thought I was having the same poor luck. Today I got off work early to take care of some things. I had a thought I can go out after some coyotes. I drive out to my spot outside Waterloo and see tracks going in and nothing coming out. I do my first stand with the sun in my eyes and thought. I think I see one. After an hour I move in a good 200 yards. I thought this time call very aggressive. 20 seconds later out pops a coyote about 100 yards to my left going with the wind. He sees movement or something isn't quite right. He turns to ho straight away. I bark twice and he turns to the left to look back. The crosshairs are on him I squeeze the trigger and the 243 barks sending a 55 gr pill into the lungs he spins to face me and is stone dead. That's a nice looking coyote nice, hoping to get my set up soon and start doing the same, was a little to cold for me today -36 with wind. But nice pic and good looking coyote man

Great shooting and glad it all came together. The wind finally slowed down a bit today and seen a lot more critters out and about

After coyote hunting last winter I thought i`d break this out for deer. I shot the gun last winter and was read for action. Deer season rolls around. And I think i`m breaking out the coyote gun. I shot the first deer at 40 feet the second at 144 yards the third deer a nine point buck at 300 yards. All with 58 grain pills. I have a Vortex Viper 6.5x20x50 I never touched it , Left it on 6.5 and got 3 of the 4 deer for our gang. For coyotes I use 55 grain pills. When I first sighted it in I wanted almost 2 inches high at 100 yards. To my surprise it shot 5/8 of a inch with 55`s and about a inch with 58`s.
