It's the 21st century... when will we throw out the 18th century policies and nonsense. The Indigenous, first settlers, Indian, native Americans or what ever title aren't mentally challenged adults, about time to treat them like responsible adults in my opinion. Incorporate the reserves and put those that need help on proper welfare and support and let them sell, lease or whatever the land they own and pay taxes etc., this race based nonsense should go. This class/race based set of ownership/laws are nothing but divisive and grounds for abuse (look at how much they get without proper accounting for it) and a sense of special entitlement as well as being discriminated against all at the same time.... idiotic!

Well said. Start by scrapping the antiquated Indian Act and treat everyone like equal Canadians. This is so out of control it ain’t funny.

If anyone cares to research "The White Paper on Indian Affairs",there's some very good observations and solutions written by former PM Chretien when he was Minister of Indian Affairs which was promptly shelved and buried for being too "radical" by Trudeau 1. One of the recommendations was repealing The Indian Act.

I don't think the problem is about "where it came from". It all about where it's going (or rather where it's going to go whether we like it or not). No one can live in the past. People must evolve or die.

If Trudough is in power when this goes to court it will be heard in a liberal appointed judge’s court who likely doesn’t own property up there and they will get everything they demand. JT will even throw in some tears and dress up like a chief in full eagle feather head gear. Sunny ways.....

I'd be telling them to go pound salt, besides who won the war any ways. Someone asked one of the natives why did you give him the name of chief walling eagle. His response was turds can't fly...

Oh I already know alot, Saugene for example, the illegal fishing, the nets left out for weeks full of dead fish with no enforcement, nets blocking spawning rivers, corruption, harassment of the outsiders, wealth and unaccountability for chiefs.
