Forum member shoots his first duck!

A forum member asked for help hunting so I took him and his girlfriend out for their very first waterfowl Hunt. We had a slow start with only a few ducks flying by but 3 Mallards came in right in front of us. A few shots later they had shot their first duck! They were both so happy, with big grins. As the morning progressed we saw a number of ducks and geese but they wouldn’t commit. Then a pair of Wood Ducks showed up and one more Duck was down.
After the hunt they came back to my place and I showed them how to breast the ducks. Lots of pin feathers so this was the best way to clean them.
We are going out again tomorrow morning at another nice pool in the same property. Looking forward to seeing how we do!

Need more people like you Sir. We are a hunting family - brother on Vancouver island , former brother in Northern Alberta and me- only because Dad took us all out at different times in our life. If we want the hunting tradition to continue , we need more people like you.

Awesome offering and we need more hunters to do this. I had a total of 11 new hunters over last weekend and no one connected. It is not as easy as the shows make it look. However, I did notice it creates a burning desire to come back, which is fantastic.

It is up to us the seasoned hunters to make opportunities to develop and inspire the next generation of hunters. We need to keep the traditions alive.
