So, I’m sitting in McDonalds right now in Midland. An older lady beside me spills her coffee all over the table. There’s a table full of high school kids right beside her. Well, immediately 3 of them jump up and help clean it up before the staff even show up. In a world where we are often critical of kids it sure nice to see there are still some great ones. Well done raising your kids to the parents !!!!
Every generation has said the same thing about kids as a generalization but for the most part the next generation is better than the last, in many respects.
The number of times I have witnessed a middle aged man in good health look the other way when a pregnant lady gets on and is looking for a seat. I see respect by the kids and disrespect by the older generations, there are both in every group.
Good on you kids, prove the boomers wrong :D

Maybe old generations can chime in-what they were thought to do for respect and politeness-VS todays' kids.They have a say,because they saw it all(60-80 years).
I recon you are about 35-40 max ........can not have experience about us,older ppl.
As much as we will never know how the today's young ones will behave in 40 years! And then their behavior in the future will say what ?about their youth....

Oh, and I use the term boomer as it is intended, to represent those born in the baby boom, between the years 1946 and 1964. Sorry but boomers are no better than any other generation before or since and in many ways the following generations (Gen X, Millenial, and Gen Z) are better than the previous.
That being said, everyone will look to the years when they were their strongest and say those were the best years and they were the best generation, this would be the time that you were in your 20s.
I remember my grandma talking about the "good old days", you know, back when people of colour had no rights, when women were not allowed to work out of the home and when her neighbour used to rape his daughters and people just kept quiet about it, the "good old days".
Well said Fox , good rebuttal . I am a boomer. The ' good old days' were not... for everyone.
I'm a boomer also. The one thing I believe to be different was that we were taught manners and were expected to display those teachings in our daily lives. As kids, if we acted up especially in public, we'd pay dearly. If I got in trouble and my parents found out about it I was more afraid of them than the consequences of law. We had to be in at certain times and be accountable for what we were up to. When I messed up I was disciplined. Today its tantamount to child abuse. You can argue about exceptions all day long but on the whole I like to believe I lived in a better society.
I see the difference today. At one time you were expected to open a door for a women. Now you can expect to be subjected to ridicule or sexism. And if you sit down at my table wearing your hat backwards, expect to hear about it in no uncertain terms.
I don't mind being old. Besides, we grew up with the best of music.
My great grandmother made this comment not to me but my father in the early 70's and she was 101 years young at the time. The world is going crazy and so is everyone in it. If she could only see it now she would roll over in her grave!!!
