Anybody fish for these? I found a honey hole last year, and caught a dozen or so with the ultralight. My Dad says he used to eat em, and a cousin told me the same. Anybody else ever target these? All the ones I caught, were 8"-11" range.

Yes good eating.
Skin & gut.
Roll in flour than an egg/milk dip.
Next roll in corn flour.
Deep fry in lard.
I can't catch enough to freeze, so I also buy 20lbs of fresh Barbotte (catfish) from the fish monger at the Independent. They get them shipped in fresh from Quebec and she calls me at 7:00 am when they are in.
I roll them in a spice mix called 'Blackened' and pan fried. Actually one of the the only fish my wife likes.
This is what the bottle looks like (off Amazon)...but can be found at the spice rack.

Right on, thx guys. Might have to mix up my regular walleye dinners for a few blackened Pouts:) thx.
I have found a few good spots for them.. only problem.....can't eat them.
Can't eat any catfish.
I love my brown bullhead from the spring run but I never target them this time of year in warm waters. Always find the meat to be less firm and more of a muddy taste. The one exception to that is catching large black bullhead from 20+ depths at night, they were pretty good. Couldn't cook them whole but it was an easy fillet after skinning.
