Anyone out for geese?
I hope to be once the season opens but being new to the area (London) I haven't had a chance to scout many farms or ponds yet.
Got next friday off hope to be in a stubble field overlooking a spread of decoys, if geese show up it'll be a bonus
Won't be many geese up this way until at least Oct.
Got next Thursday booked off, dekes all cleaned up, blinds ready to go, few fields got birds hitting daily. Just hope for wind and rain opening day it should be good.

Friday will be my day. There's plenty of local birds around.
Central or northern success?
I managed a nice single this morning in the south. Birds were moving pretty good with that north wind.
I went out yesterday in the Kawarthas. Completely dead. Corn not cut yet and the old harvested grain fields are not attracting anything. Set up in the marsh for about 4 hours. Not even a single bird flying. Lots of Cormorants!. Very few local ducks as well. Spent about 6 hrs driving around checking the fields. Nada. My black Lab Bubba wouldn't even look me in the eye. He was even sighing as he laid there in the boat. I made it up to him by getting him two Timbits on the drive home.
200 geese in one field I have permission, 150 just down the road I can hunt as well.
Impossible to hunt with north wind unless I want to face the road or the farm house.
Tomorrow morning suppost to be southeast. Hitting the big field in the morning, smaller field at night.
Ducks though! omg there must have been 300 land in the swamp last night at dark. Insane how many are around right now.
