Old people

Well both my parents just turned 74 last month and this month. Tried to call Mom on her birthday and no answer, had to call the next morning to wish her a Happy Birthday and I sent flowers the day before. Tried to call the old man tonight at home as I had a question about taxes (Yup I don't know everything) and no answer.

Holy crap where are they? Their old like where can they go? Starting to think we should round up old people and put them
on an island so they can be managed. I'm thinking I'm going to have to put them on a short leash so I know where they are.

Why do we even allow old people to go out? They should be kept in their condos or old age home so we can keep track of them.:scream::joker:

Nice try but us old people are out there doing what we always did, except going to work.

My old man is 89 and pre-covid was out curling twice a week followed by whiskey with the boys. Moved to town about 5 years ago but still goes to the farm every day to piss around on the tractor or monkey around in the barn as well. Mom is 84 and still does all her own housekeeping and grocery shopping and shops for some of her friends who are shut-ins. She has slowed down the last 2 week as she bruised 2 ribs when she lost her balance and fell off a stool changing light bulbs in some of the ceiling pot lights. They both still drive as well.

Right on! My dad was 88 and mom was 90 living in an old farm house in Dunvegan, Cape Breton a few years ago. They're gone now though. They lived to the fullest without any intervention by the kids, and they enjoyed life with their chickens, ducks and trout pond. If we had pulled them out of there 10 years ago, and put them in "a home", they would have died unhappy.

Dad still drives and just bought a new van, my mom had a stroke 10 years ago and can only use her left hand.

i hunt with my dad and his uncles and they're getting up there.

with that said.....
they seem in better shape than my dad LOL

Dad is 80 mom is 78.....both are doing well and hope that continues for a very long time..... I am going to miss them when they are gone..... :(

My dad's 75. And still refuses help with pretty much anything. Stays active on the homestead, to say the least...
