Elk on trail camera

I went to the deer camp last week in the Rainy River Area to retrieve my trail cameras. I was pleasantly surprised to find photos of 3 elk at one of my stands. 50 elk were released near Nestor Falls around the same time as Bancroft and Blind River. At Nestor Falls, the elk escaped their pen as soon as they were put in and they subsequently dispersed in different directions.

We've seen a few elk out in a farmers field before, but not where my stand is. Anyway, it was interesting to see. I will try to post pictures.

The cows were there in June then again in September with the bull. They were drawn to a mineral lick that I developed with brown salt blocks. No sign of calves... no shortage of wolves in the area :(
