Lots of cases every day, everywhere. I got a positive test result today. Started feeling it Saturday night and stayed home from work since. It has not been bad for me and I mostly feel fine now.
Just curious if any of the other members have been through it or had a close family member that was.
Deer hunt 2019 Wk 2 for me was a write off. I was never that sick in my life. Symptoms were a carbon copy of Covid-19 that lasted 10 days,lost 12 lbs,felt like someone was standing on my chest,couldn't hardly get a breath and couldn't talk for 4 days after. It went away just as quickly as it appeared without lingering effects. Mrs.T was fine throughout. I'm not sure if it was Covid or not because I was never tested,but,I'm not buying for one second that it didn't start to appear until Feb 2020 (officially). I'm in the same boat as trimmer21, one week after Christmas it hit me and I was nearly tapped for 2 weeks. Breathing wasn't the biggest issue for me, about 3 days of wheezing. The compounding muscle aches were terrible.

I do not know anyone confirmed personally
But last December I was sicker than a dog spitting up and blowing out lots of blood from the nose for several days before I went to the hospital. 4 or 5other families got the worst flu late December onto early January but some of them showed little to no symptoms or sick only a fever for a day or two. Some worse than others some in bed for weeks. All said to have severe pneumonia or bronchitis that actually went into the hospital. . None tested just what the doctor said there was no talk of covid it was only thought to be in China in the days after or while some were sick. But they were all close contacts and every family showed different symptoms
I felt the long haul and only started feeling better in March or clearing up by then. Wasn't every day that I felt bad a few days here and a few days there but lasted a long time. Also I was sick in late September last year what I thought could of been the flu.
I missed out on first ice and first snow sledding mid to late December 2019. Both of those events to me are what I love more the first ice . But I could of cared less I just wanted to be left alone with little energy to do anything with. I live for first ice year after year but last year I couldn't even find the strength to look out side never mind walk on the ice.
Funny thing tho I was already checking ice then before I got sick but it all got put on hold till January. Bummer.

No doubt,that's where it came from. The Chinese only went public after they had no other choice. Nobody would ever believe it came from a food market,either,especially,when one of their secure research labs is less than a mile away. One of their "bugs" got out into the atmosphere long before they ever said anything.Quote:

They know it came from China that is a fact, how long was China hiding it for is the question.

Karen works at a Teaching Hospital, that does a good amount of cutting edge studies and procedures.
That means there are people coming in to lecture and demonstrate/teach new procedures all the time. Doctors also travel to conferences in North America and overseas.
So with that in mind...Over a six to eight week period last fall multiple staff member in various departments got sick. Some where out for a few days some a few weeks.
Now in February or March I test POSITIVE for "ANTIBODIES" not positive for Covid-19?, but for the ANTIBODIES.
December/January? Can't say I was "SICK", but my butt was scraping a deep ditch behind me.
It's been around for quite some time.
I have a cousin who got it many months ago.
I have a work colleague on my project, who's both parents died from it two months ago.
For anyone that is curious, my symptoms have been:
Saturday night late: nasal and sinus congestion
Sunday: minor headache in the morning, low energy all day, minor chills in the evening
Monday: nasal congestion like a cold, some body aches. Took NyQuil at bedtime and had a great sleep.
Tuesday am: woke up refreshed, no more congestion and body aches only all day
Wednesday: body aches getting better
Today: no major symptoms
Throughout: good appetite and no stomach issues, slight cough
i feel like I’m getting off easy

I mentioned before my wife ,myself and son were all sick before Christmas last year. Basically three weeks of a dry hacking cough
I was the last to get t and the first to recover. I think its been here well prior to last Christmas.
73hunter .... thanks for sharing your experience with COVID. I’m glad you are doing well and didn’t have any severe symptoms. Will you give your age? I’m in my 60’s and worried that it may not be so easy for me. Take care
I know 2 people. Have a couple "maybe it was". All survived including my 88 year old aunt who was in one of the worst LTCs.
I need both hands and both feet to count the number of people that might not survive the cure.

Fear and Greed, the two most powerful motivators. The one and only thing I'm sure of is that I do actually need both hands and feet, to count the number of people I know that are being crushed. Economically.

My wife, daughter and granddaughter all tested positive in March. We all live under the same roof.
Granddaughter (3 year old) had the equivalent of a minor cold and was over it in 3 or 4 days.
Daughter (25 years old) had the equivalent of a mild flu and was over it in about a week.
Wife (51 years old) was sick as a dog for 3 weeks and was one step from being hospitalized for about 7 of those days. Her lung function has still not fully recovered.
None had any underlying health issues and none of them are overweight.
Despite sleeping in the same bed every night with my wife and living with all 3 of them I never developed symptoms. I am normal weight no health issues and 55.
I was never tested as at that time you had to have symptoms to qualify for a test
Last Christmas we had an employee who was traveling for us and made us all sick. We were real sick for about a week and didn't go out for New Years and were in bed real early. This person is from the UK and went back in May for family reasons, can't blame him. When he goes back he has to be tested for having the China Virus and the antibody test for having had it.
Twice he tests negative for having the virus and twice he tests positive for the antibody test, meaning he had it. The only time he was sick was between Christmas and New Year’s when we all were sick. I am sure all or work and our families had it. Didn’t pay as much attention to as sick as I was as I would now. I sure wish we did the antibody test here so we would know how far the virus has gone through the population and maybe decide who needs the vaccine first.
We do have the antibody test in Ontario. It’s through “Dynacare” and it will cost $70. Hopefully OHIP will cover that soon.Quote:

3 people at work including me have been positive, but not my assistant who I was working with closest
Before my onset of symptoms, I had a few neighbours over for some drinks and a poker game. Judge me if you will, I’m just relating my experience. 7 guys came over, and were in close quarters, and all but one were negative 5 days later.
Either this virus is not nearly as contagious as we are told, or the testing is unreliable.

Hadn't heard that the test was available, when we heard the news the company asked what to do and were told nothing. I called my doctor and at the time there was no one doing the antibody test, he said if your not sick at the time don't worry about it. Do you have a link to the test, I still want to see if I had it.Quote:

Anyone getting blood work done, for what ever reason, under a Dr's requisition (free)..should automatically be tested for the antibodies. Search “Dynacare” it explains it there. You will need a requisition signed by a doctor. I think it is $75. I feel that the way the government is spending on the virus, the test should be encouraged and free to add to a database. We need more scientific facts on the virus and maybe less opinions.

Vaccines don't give you anti-bodies...they stimulate your immune system to create them....like when you get the actual virus. So NO you don't need the vaccine if you already recovered from the actual virus.Quote:

It'll be interesting to see what they do when they restrict your travel after you fail to produce a Vaccine passport, but you have a Blood test that confirms you have the Covid anti-bodies from recovering from actual exposure...
Millions of Canadians should be exempt from any restrictions....like going to the movies... without the Vaccine Passport. That's how herd immunity works.
