Boxing day buck to close the season.

Probably the biggest forky I've seen. At 180lbs he was actually only 10lbs shy of a 130" 10-point I shot.
This was one of the more relaxing hunts I've had this season. No fancy stalking or trying to outmanouvre deer. He walked slowly from my left at 3:00pm and stopped right infront of me at 20 yards. Arrow zipped through both lungs and he slowly walked off and collapsed 70 yards later.
Truly greatful for an amazing season hunting with family and friends.

For those wondering about tag distribution. There are three of us that hunt with additional tags. One family member only goes a few times a year at most and we fill their tags early on, then we fill my tags usually in November, and lastly my dad's. Occassionally a friend will accompany us and they'll offer up one of their tags if we harvest something in which we offer most of the deer.

So far we've given away at least 25% of our meat to friends that haven't had time to go out or have been less lucky in their endeavors.

We are lucky we can party hunt in Ontario. The deer hunting would be limited otherwise!! I tend to fill my tags early then party hunt the rest of the season. The hardest part is getting the guys I know to hunt late season! Lol

Congrats again MS.

IMO For some WMU’s it makes sense, for others where the Deer population is struggling they should cancel party hunting until the herd numbers increase.

I watch North Woods Law and I notice they have an abundance of deer in Maine. They also have no party hunting. Wonder if the two are related in some way.

Maine has plenty of ridiculous laws that are borderline entrapment, you wouldn't catch me dead in that state. I watch Northwoods law only to laugh at how uneducated the game wardens are, half of them are downright arrogant douchebags.
- Pushing deer isn't allowed, so I guess it's illegal to walk through the forest. How are you supposed to know you're pushing deer??
- You can't shine light at game during hunting season. A guy pulled a u-turn on a gravel road and accidentally shined some deer. He was chastized and ticketed DESPITE wearing no camo and having no guns/bows in the car.
- No baiting deer, they harassed a hunter because he had an apple tree in his front yard and ticketed him for baiting near HIS OWN residence. So it's illegal to own apple trees too!

Thanks and a HNY! I agree. Every time I head up north for fall blackbear I always hear about how much of a beating the deer population has taken every winter. They need more predator regulation and do something to lower harvest numbers. I've only ever archery hunted deer in the 94-92 WMUs. I remember one day me and my hunting partner saw 20 does during a sit in one bush. Last year I counted 15 bucks on my trail camera on public land. Just because someone uses archery doesn't necessarily make it harder, I couldn't imagine anyone being successful without a rifle north of French River.

What a joke, watching this show is like watching a bunch of storm troopers operating. You got to register your deer, you cannot bait, its all about giving out ticket's and bringing in revenue.

The hunters down there are their own worse enemies by not keeping their mouth's shut. Most of their induced statements of admission would NEVER be allowed into evidence in Canada.

The dumbest episode was a few days ago where they had a helicopter flying in fish fry to re stock remote lakes, no bother no expenses spared and in the next episode they have scores of volunteers carry in the body of a dead Canadian of one of the highest most treacherous mountain tops in terrible terrain tripping all over the place and walking out miles. No helicopter. LOL

Exactly, I guarantee at least 3/4 of the tickets they give out are dismissed in court. All that anyone has to do is keep their mouth shut and those jokers wouldn't have a show. They claim certain methods of hunting is "poaching" or "immoral" when they are the only ones that ban that method of hunting.
I've never seen game wardens so uneducated about their native wildlife and hunting in general. I remember one episode where a game warden killed a native Milk snake (completely harmless and only 20" long) because he thought it was a python that could "strangle" him... They also always go on about how they have "so few bear and deer" meanwhile they have one of the largest populations for both out of all the states. And the best part was when a hunter wounded a deer at 10 yards with his compound due to lack of penetration, and this moron of a game warden explained that "the arrow didn't have enough time to build up speed" LOL.

I know its a bit off topic but since you mentioned Black Bears, what would be the problem of us in Ontario giving them some of our countless nuisance black bears? Kill two birds with one stone, get rid of unwanted bears and foster better relations between hunters in both places?

That would be a good idea in other situations but they definitely don't have problems with bear numbers in Maine, if anything they have a much bigger problem with nuisance bears than we do. Maine has around half the bears we do but Maine is less than 9% the size of Ontario. Plus It'd be very costly to transport large dangerous wild animals across national borders, they'd have to vet them for health etc. But it would be a good idea for areas with low bear populations or to reintroduce bears. We got our Elk and Turkeys from the Americans. As much as they say they aren't, North Woods law is a largely anti-hunting show. They treat every hunter they interact with as a criminal and show no positive interactions between hunters. As well as throwing out false statements like "we don't have enough bears". Lone Star law is a much better show in that regard, there they actually advertise hunting and catch ACTUAL poachers. Plus the game wardens on Lone Star Law are actually hunters themselves.

Agree with you, save and except the cost of re location to States that might want them. I think there are deep enough pockets in the U.S. to get it done without a big problem. Mind you the biggest opponents might be Canadian outfitters?
