I am not sure what the tech/research guys were thinking (maybe just out of touch with the average hunter) as this is just a silly hunting crossbow.
Excalibur, the simple and most reliable crossbow just went out the window.

No different than how O/U and SxS shotguns and rifles are setup, they just have to have them intersect at 20-30 yards and they are perfect, there will not need to be that much adjustment and they will not be that much out at closer or further ranges.Quote:

Double crossbows have been around for centuries, IF I recall right there were some of them in the Museum of Hunting and Nature in Paris, there were a variety of different crossbows and pellet/stone bows there. The air rifles are what got me going, I mean muzzleloaders with 6 or 10 shots in rotating barrels etc and all inlaid with ivory etc. but they had atelast 3 of the muzzle loading air rifles...

Well I had the perfect opportunity this year for one. The biggest buck I have ever seen came by, I pulled the trigger and the bolt went down landed between its feet and short. it bolted about 40yds past me and stopped 20yds past me. just stood there and tried to figure out what the noise was. he finally gave up and walked away. My initial thought is “gadget” that will appeal to those who invest more in gear than skills and knowledge. Upon further reflection, I tend to agree with mr. Fox; this is just another repeating firearm. If I can live with the fact that some guys hunt with semi-autos, what’s wrong with a repeating crossbow? Some guys take up archery because of the challenge and for the appreciation of traditional gear (the purist), while others do so to access limited hunting opportunities. In the end, it doesn’t matter and to each his own.

It seems only a complete Fudd would think that having the 2nd shot is somehow going to get people firing at 100 yards etc. Double barrel rifles, shotguns, crossbows, lever action rifles, bolt action rifles, semi-automatic .... ALL are used to give that 2nd shot. Idiots fire at geese 200 yds up, idiots fire their bows/crossbows too far and poorly .... but how many good shots out there can relate to a picture like this.

This isn't a bow most will use, age, disability, time, aptitude etc. will all affect how people hunt... we could all hunt with a 45-70 single shot, it would work... not well in most situations and not appealing to most but we could. We could all hunt without all those pullies and extra wires that are for lazy hunters and only let people hunt with bows like a long bow or like this .. *

The guy I bought a bunch of stuff off at a garage sale this summer hurt his shoulder and will never pull a hunting weight bow again (40+ lbs), I suggested he get one of the Excaliburs with a crank so he could still go out and I hope he does. On one of the Ontario hunting pages I saw a picture of a guy 75 with an excalibur, this would be perfect for him and if needed he could get that second shot.
This one looks good and the profile reminds me of one of the crossbows with the wheels and wires running all over, looks good to me and like the traditional or the compound etc. they will be used well by people that take (and have) time to figure the best way to use them and the opportunity and as for the Fudds that say that's not a real bow... :silly: well crossbows were found in the 1st emperors tomb in China so that's over 2,200 years and repeating crossbows like the Chu-ko-nu were considered as self defence weapons for women according to an ancient writer. If you don't use it and have nothing but saying mine is better to say.... shush!

Maybe it's an issue with having two triggers. I noticed in the video there is a seperate safety for each trigger.

However, something is not working properly, and I would advise taking the bow to your local pro shop or contacting the manufacturer or place of purchase about possible repair or replacement.

Most of us if we’re honest have had situations where a follow up 2nd would have been handy. I’ve managed to load ( lol) my micro a 2nd time once. But didn’t like the shot angle so didn’t take it.
Don’t understand the “hate”. It’s a tool, no more and no less. Too each their own.
I would never though. Love the micro, less is more imo. Especially when in blinds/stands and thick Bush. My previous Eclipse was always getting caught on branches. And when deer are sketchy size matters or more importantly movement. The bigger the tool, the more movement.
And for the most part, it just strikes me as most stuff hunting. Slick marketing designed to get people to open their wallets.
A lot of trade offs and down side, for a “2nd” shot most of us might wish we had time for just a couple times in our lives

Excalibur Micro 355 has a draw weight of 280 lbs, & a bolt speed of 355ft/s. The micro's limb design seems to be optimized to be able to deal with such high energy. Still, there are reports of micro's limb failures.
Now:
For the same bolt speed (360 ft/s), the twin apparently needs a draw weight of 360 lbs .
That's an extra 28% energy stored in the twin's limbs compared to the micro.
Also, the new twin limbs are more "square" shaped to be able to fit the twin.
I do really wonder how the new twin limbs will perform.
