Facebook calls on Canadian government to set social media rules

Holy Crap....FB is going to ask the Liberals what content they want banned from their social media platform.

Doesn't everyone feel like there are two forces building up big time ... almost via provocation?
On the one side we have big tech and government (and Wall Street billionaires) control over people being stepped up.
On the other side we have movements of people, en mass, that are finding their collective actions can make a difference (Whatsapp privacy invasion revolt, Gamestop, COVID rule protests).

It's like the world is being setup for one big civil war.

They have been calling on that kind of control for about a year or 18 months openly.

I would argue that....
1) The goat or cow is still alive
2) more can be made
3) they get fat and full and stop eating atleast for a bit.

I would say it is more like having wolves to guard the goats...

That just talks about Google tracking you .

It's also listening to you picking up your words for ads . Talk about something and you might see what you were talking about. You don't have to google it just talk about what you want and ads will pop up .

Actually if you are logged into Google and you are talking on the phone if you go look up what you are talking about Google will bring it up before you are done typing.

Fishig buddy of mine and I have tested this extensively with some wild results. We are often out of cell range while fishing and sometimes we will even power down our phones. We will pick something random and stupid that has nothing to do with us to spend a few minutes talking about, just sitting on the lake with our phones off and in pocket. After returning to service we can turn our phones on and scroll through the Google News feed and every time, without fail an ad will pop up with whatever stupid thing we discussed. Last weeks conversation came out with hilarious results and buddys phone being spammed with sex toy ads for three days following.

On another outing we left both phones sitting on my kitchen table, low and behold our conversation while traveling in his truck was where the ads were targeted upon return.

There is almost nothing you can do anymore without being watched.

My home phone is still a land line and my cell isn't logged into any carrier other than Mobility. Much more privacy that way,
