The prices are insane right now. Considering they retailed for around 8K new a normal asking price would be 50% to 65%. Right now, 6K wouldn't be hard to get if it looks pretty.
Buddy dumped his old 450 for 4K this spring and it was definitely used.

Well right know it is a sellers market I have seen listing on Kijiji that blow my mind espacially compared to 14 months ago when I bought mine secound hand , I have seen my bike same option simliuar milage go 1500 to 2000.00 more than what I paid. To give you a price maybe ask a dealer what he guve on a trade in ,if they have any bikes to trade for
Where are you located?
Seems like even if it were a beat up mud machine it would be $7k+ right now. It's nuts. I'm starting to wonder if I should be selling my 16 year old Suzuki and buy a brand new one for only a few thousand more. The price of new machines doesn't seem to have increased like the used market has.
If it's clean, shine it up some more, I'll bet you can get $7K easy.
I've been watching the prices as of late as 8 am in need of a new one. Tore the front end out of my old kitty cat this winter in the heavy slush. Will keep the old girl for plowing. Most Japanese models are keeping their prices reasonable, polaris jumped a bunch but their new 4X4 system is not for me anyhow. Yamaha prices are decent but the dealer just chuckled when I asked about lead time on a new Grizz.
The surprise was CF Moto, they doubled! 15K for their 1000cc two up unit.
Everyone is buying at a rate never seen before, it's crazy. Trucks, toys and building materials. Have a boat for a client being delivered this week, guy from the marina says he will retire if it keeps up, six hundred and something boats on pre order for this year and he doubts he will see half of them by August.

That is a surprise. They weren't worth the money at the original price. I know of two people that bought CF Moto side by sides that have had trouble with them, and both have switched back to Japanese machines. The CFs look good on paper and price wise, but come up short on reliability from what I've seen.
Good luck buying a new Hondsa Foreman 500 for 8K. They are now 10K when you add taxes and freight. I don't think you can even get a 420 Rancher for under $8800. With only 1800km on it, I wouldn't part with your atv for anything less than $6800 if it's in good shape.7k for sure if it has a good winch, windshield, two-up seat storage.
Correction - a 2021 Foreman ES is 10K now before taxes and freight. That's the basic model, without power steering. Add a winch and windshield to it and you're into 13K for a new one!
Me and my dad are literally thinking the same LOL what Suzuki you have? We have a edigar 400cc 2013 got it for cheap in Ottawa towed it back down here fixed her up and she works fine now.
I for 1 do not understand the peices at all LOL

But a basic 5spd Foreman 520, for the farm. $8599. Not terrible for a brand new bike.

Mine's an 05 700efi. Bought it 9 years ago for $4300. The used market value for Suzuki's definitely isn't as high as Honda/Yamaha, but still pretty inflated right now

I'm possibly looking at the Honda Rancher they start at 8200 and go on sale for around 7800 and the Kodiak starts at 10K, the specs seem pretty good for the money compare to the Yamaha Kodiak. Both have the same size engine 420CC, quality seems the same looking them over. All the same features and about 1800 cheaper.
Rancher 8200 full Price + Tax = 9266
Kodiak 10,000 full price + tax = 11300
Over 2000 cheaper for the Rancher
You might be looking at the Kodiak 700's price which is $9899? The Kodiak 450 is $7899 msrp

Not taking anything away from the Honda, they are good machines. But the Yamaha will have a fully automatic transmission, 2" more ground clearance and independent rear suspension. The ranchers come pretty plain. All depends on how you plan to use it and if you'll be happy with it once you buy it.
I love the Yamaha as well. If your using the bike for work stuff the manual shift is nice. Also with the shaft drive one never worries about blowing a belt. I might take a bit more time getting somewhere but thats ok. Who is in a rush. I could always pull a Polaris back who overheated. Lol

09 Grizzly 700 still on original belt. I serviced the clutch last year, belt still looks new. I work the machine hard year round, plowing, yard work, firewood etc. My dad has a 04 Honda Rincon that he works with at the cottage and it’s been bulletproof too. Can’t go wrong with either a Honda or Yamaha IMO.

Everyone's tastes change over time I guess. My old honda fourtrax was great for pulling loads of straw up the barn hill and into the barn(although getting stopped was another issue)But scooting across the field you felt every bump. Now as I'm older I don't want to change gears anymore. I even sold a pickup truck because I was tired of changing gears after 3 years. In another 10 years I'll likely need a hovercraft because of my bad hips. lol
oh wow i just checked kijiji today, what a change, i ment 2003 not 2013, i bought this thing for like 1000 bucks couple years ago. granted the back brakes dont work or parking brake only has the trusty front brakes, semi auto. i might put her on kijiji see what offers i get lol
it needed some work done, new petcock, changed the airfilter, new carb kit, changed the front brakes, new oil filter, but other than no back brakes and no parking brake shes hauled deer plus 3 guys no problems lol, its def saved our backed plenty of pain the last few years lol.
