I was of the same opinion until just a few years ago then the Kids moved out and away, I signed up as away to communicate with them. It does have some other advantages as Canadaman said. You have access to info that would be difficult to find through search engines and websites, I particularly like the Market Place Buy and Sell as the pictures are much more detailed than Kijiji and often the same ads.
