Does anyone know of septic pumping company that services the Lanark Highlands and that has a 4x4 pick-up type pumping truck?

Not from your area but some of the companies that rent out the "blue rockets" use 1 ton pick ups with the pump out tanks on back. Might be worth looking into.
I would just call any company and ask if they can do the job. Most of the companies that I have seen in Ottawa seem to have a small truck
I had Valley Wide Pumping out of Arnprior clean mine for $250 last year but that is a full size truck.
Your best source would be to call one of the local shops such as Ron's in Pakenham and get a referral.

So, I've called several companies that service the area, and none of them have smaller trucks that could access the site. One toilet rental company said they have small trucks, but they are too small and weren't willing to do it. It seems that F550 type trucks that have ~900 gallon tanks on them exist, which would be able to do the job in one trip, but no local companies seem to use them. There's one company in Huntsville, but that's a 3.5 hour trip so I doubt they would do my cottage. There has to be someone closer.
Regarding the RV/Trailer parks, I assume they would use the big local companies, and I think I have contacted most of them. Those sites would also likely have relatively easy access to the septic tanks.
Anyone have any other ideas, or can point me in the direction of some resources to help me solve this problem?
I know of farmers who literally just pump it out into their fields.
Why can't you get a bigger truck in? Is there anything you can do to get a truck in something in the way ?

I may have to just get some companies to do site visits and tell me if they can get any of their trucks in. The "road" to my cottage is more of a trail. There are some pretty tight corners, and the part leading right to the cottage is steep; so steep that my kids used it as a tobogganing hill during the winter.
Worse case you can always rent a sewage pump from home depot and pull it up into a 500 to 1,000 gal tank on the back of you're pick up and then dump it at an RV site. Small investment that will pay for itself in the long run.
I used a shopvac to empty the holding tank on my daughters 40' trailer...not fun but worked HaHa..
Well who pumped it before now? You'd be surprised where some of the honey wagon jockeys can go.
I just bought the place last fall. The previous owner had the system installed but never had it pumped out. Naturally, that was a red flag to me, but I had the system inspected before I bought the place, and it checked out just fine - no issues with the tank or septic field.
Couldn't have been much of an inspection if they didn't pump it. It's usually part of the closing to have it pumped. I wouldn't worry about it if it is relatively new there won't be a lot of sediment. I've gone 10 years plus without a pump out with no adverse effects just watch what goes down there and no Charmin T.P.
This may be the best bet, they may be able to run enough hose to pump it without getting the truck all the way in. I've seen tractor trailers wheel roads you'd think twice about driving a pickup down, you might find somebody up to the challenge. Of course they will probably charge accordingly.
Try contacting porta potty rental companies. They usually have F550 size trucks to service porta potties.
How many feet are you off of the main road?
A requirement for mine is 150 feet of hose and I know they can carry another 50 feet I'm sure.
If you have a neighbor find out who they use .
I drive a 20 ft box truck and like mentioned I have gone on stuff people would be afraid of in a pickup truck lol. Been down some pretty interesting trails that are actually Rds lol.
You would be amazed where a truck can go as long at it has the clearance and the ground in hard it should be good.

I've heard that once before about Charmin. All I use is their extra strong and have had no issues at all. I had mine pumped out after 8 years last fall and there were no issues according to the guy from Kingfish who pumped it out while I was watching. Have you had issues with it? I just did a search and this came up. https://www.charmin.com/en-us/tips-a...s/flushability
Yeah, It seized up the effluent pump once about 20 years ago never bought it again, then my daughter moved back home into the basement last fall and cooked the pump down there, I looked at the toilet paper holder and sure enough Charmin. It's too strong and doesn't break down fast enough. I could see it plugging up a drain field pretty quick under heavy use.
A septic leach field killer is the facial makeup remover wipes that women flush down the toilet.
It happened to my neighbour. His daughter kept flushing them down the toilet and totally plugged up the system.
He had to dig and flush out all the pipes with a pressure washer.
I have a lint trap sock on the discharge hose of the washing machine. You would be amazed on how much fiber it catches.
A little prevention goes a long way.
They are available.
I installed a "T" on the outlet of my tank and inserted a brush into it specific for catching debris floating into the field.
Problem was and soon realized that bacterial growth on it was clogging the out flow and needed to be rinsed off every few months.
So, I removed the brush and left the "T" in place which juts down about 1 foot below the surface and still prevents floaties from making it out and clogging the pipes.
These are the lint traps I use on the washing machine discharge hose.

I agree it is strong, that's why I like it. There's only 2 of us here and I'm the only one using it. No pumps to worry about. I've never seen anything like that floating in the secondary chamber, and there is a baffle in the first chamber that shouldn't allow anything floating to enter the second. My whole septic field is over 30 years old now so I want to treat it nice. I use an industrial strength septic treatment called Hycura from Alberta. It seems to work real good, there is hardly any odor from the tank with the cover off. Order direct from the supplier, free shipping.
Since when did they learn to wipe their assets? The nose knows.
I'll add that the fields (corn) were fallow at the time and was just as surprised as you about it. Might have been cow corn I don't really know but I did see the T.P..
Well then I have no idea what you're talkin about.
They use it in a sod farm near me .

In case anyone finds themselves in the same position and is looking for someone to do septic pumping on hard to reach sites, I ended up calling McCrea Excavating / Poppa Milts, and they did the job with no issues. Reasonable price too.
Two points - in many other countries human waste is used to fertilize the fields - the other item - the worst enemy of a septic system is grease - I always wipe the dishes with a paper towel before I wash them so that I am not putting grease into the septic system - my system has been working for close to 50 years with no trouble
