Who Is The Real Target?
Law abiding citizens are the target the main target of the gun ban is harmless. Pets kill more people each year than the ar 15 had killed in Canada ever .
It's not about safety

Exactly, us legal gun owners!!
Thats why my Mossberg .22LR semi was declared a “high-powered assault rifle” and prohibited - it just happens to LOOK like an AR-15!
My thinking is, this is just the same as racial profiling, and if its not okay for them to do it to people based just on their looks, then why is it okay for them to do it to guns based just on looks?
If it's not obvious ... all this stuff pushed by politicians is for VOTES ONLY.
No one gives a crap anymore about principles ... especially Turdeau.
Create an issue ... be the savior ... get the votes ... stay in power.
That's it ... all of it.
Yes, much easier to disarm a legal law abiding citizen, and the gang bangers just keep motoring on?
What a joke.
You can clearly see by their first ad who is their real target.
I must not be the "real target" of the regulations. Not a single one of my firearms was affected. If you can say the same you aren't the "real target" either.
Same as the 'Reconciliation'...a 100 yr old issue pops up just before the Village Idiot will be looking for votes...He sweeps in, names an Indigenous GG, takes a knee with a teddy bear at some unknown gravesite, and then promises $Billions!! to the Indigenous to find answers.
All to appease the 1.67 million indigenous people (4.9% of the population of Canada)...who are on record to provide a vote for cash.
Sounds historically accurate to me, Justlied blows billions, lies and gets votes using taxpayer money, just like Papa... I mean Pierre Trudeau papa.
Only self concerned, blind follower of a person that has tried so many power grabs, censorship (C-10, C-36....) and lied on all topics (budgets, ethics, SNC, WE Charity, firearms etc. etc. ) .... yes yes... we know you only believe what Justlied says... even when the evidence is the opposite just like the good little Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot, Castro... tyrant/dictator followers.
The Liberals usually lack the integrity or intellect to make long term fixes so targeting the law abiding is easiest... from 2015 to 2019 the budget lies were over $100B and they put Canada into a debt abyss after that but avoided inconveniencing criminals, I mean they only spent 1/4 their promise to fight gangs, pathetic, Liberal spending lies that would help make Canada safer.

How do you know? There were 1500 on the OIC list, there are over 300 not on that list that were added and they haven't even set a standard for the 12 guage bore diameter. Seems you are basing it on ignorance of the full facts or wishful thinking that more won't be added or aren't already on there. You are making Fudds look good. As pointed out by Ian Runkle in his videos on the law C-71 broke the ATT so seems you have no restricted, non of the 1,500 known, possibly non of the 300+ added and no 12 guages ... and are selfish and don't care about the encroachment and creeping restrictions.Quote:

Darn gang bangers are screwed now, as they cant transport their handguns anymore. The streets of Toronto should be quiet tonight.....
I just heard they're passing another law. Since the gang bangers have been using Argentine Dojo's as guard and attack dogs.....they're asking everyone in Canada who has one to turn it in to be exterminated...I could care less....I have a different breed.......see how that sounds? It gets tiresome when it's regarding every dumb law the Libs play chess with......
You mean books like I keep talking to my daughter about and she asked me to draw up a list for her:
1. THE WHITE AND THE GOLD ( The French Regime in Canada)
By Thomas B. Costain
2. CENTURY OF CONFLICT ( The struggle between French, English, & Colonial America)
By Joseph Lister Rutledge
3. THE PATH Of DESTINY (Canada from the British Conquest to Home Rule 1763 - 1850 )
By Thomas H. Raddall
4. FROM SEA UNTO SEA ( The Road to Nationhood 1850 -1910 )
By W. G. Hardy
5. ORDEAL BY FIRE ( Canada 1910 - 1945 )
By Ralph Allen
I started with the THE PATH Of DESTINY (Canada from the British Conquest to Home Rule 1763 - 1850 ), By Thomas H. Raddall, It blew me away, and then went back and read the two initial volumes in the series, now I'm currently working my way through the fourth volume.

I just got finishing a rather interesting book written before Confederation when Toronto was just emerging from the swamp.
Winter Studies and Summer Rambles in Canada by Anna Brownell JAMESON. Upper Canada in 1836 is very well described and as she was the separated wife of the attorney general she got around pretty well most of the Province. Excellent account of the aboriginal people's she meet, their circumstances, condition's , tradition's, alliances. Also a vivid account of pioneering life for various settlers from Toronto to Manitoulin Island and even the Soo.
Speaking of “account of pioneering life for various settlers from Toronto to Manitoulin Island and even the Soo” W.G. Hardy in the volume I’m currently readings covers the misadventure of groups of families caught up by the gold fever along the Fraser River, who make their way across the expanse of Northern Ontario, and prairies to B.C., which by the time they had arrived the gold had pretty much dried up. Later at the formation of Confederation, he would focus in on the lifestyle of rural Ontario, elements of which I could identify with being raised on a farm in the middle of the 20th century, hand milking, butter churning, and threshing gangs, by then the gas street lights had slipped into history, but I still recall when the cows were freshening in the spring, those late night visits to the barn, with the kerosene lantern in hand to check things out. I thought that Hardy had well capture the essence of that period of our history when he wrote, “Life was still “self-help”- and government had not as yet emasculated independence with a beneficent paternalism.”

lmfao. that must be the stupidest thing ive seen in months.
"together"
as in hunters ,sports shooters, and the government can help keep guns out of the wrong hands. what pictures would you like them to have up there? i honestly dont get how some peoples minds work now a days.
@Badenoch X2!
It's very well known that negative words/feelings associate with negative images in our brain much better then positive ones (example study for you here: https://journals.plos.org/plosone/ar...l.pone.0024862 - there are bunch more if you care to explore a bit..)
This ad campaign is not aimed to be displayed to hunting audience, but to general voting public.
Thus the negative keywords in the sentence are MEANT to be associated with given image in order to trigger a negative response when the time is right....
If you think that an accident; You are clearly not too familiar with targeted advertising techniques and basic psychology...
Need more proof - go review bunch of smear political campaign that happen around every election ---
Whos picture do you see on the screen when some crap is being said - the one being smeared OR the one who sponsored the ad ???
Liberals and lies... they just go together don't they. When you look at the history and bans in the past there is no evidence they care about actual crimes and based on their repeated comments and actions the creep goes on and they are trying to make up for a 10 year delay caused by a competent government being in power. Seizing property, censorship, lies, coverups, fear mongering, division.... but let's stick to their firearm policies, the page they had before 2019 had many outrageous lies and fear mongering so let's look at where we are now. Atleast the lies on the ATT aren't in their page now, fear mongering is still there, but if you need an ATT make sure to check the CCFR and Ian Runkle's videos on the b.s. related to the changes there.

Gun crime is on the rise, and too often people are killed or injured because criminals have used military-style assault rifles. These guns are designed to inflict mass casualties and have no place in Canada. Canadians are tired of excuses and know that “thoughts and prayers” don’t make our communities any safer.
Bans of some style of rifle don't work, delusional and lies... oh when it is a style it isn't that object and based on their spending less than 1/4 their promise - LIbEral Lie 1
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHpNTWFtn6M
Unlike Conservatives, who want to weaken Canada’s gun laws, we will make gun laws stronger. We will move forward with a ban on all military-style assault rifles, including the AR-15, and will take other steps to keep people safe from gun violence, including:
Same as above.... lie 2. Seems that the law abiding are the problem and especially given the reality that the current gun laws do checks on the law abiding daily.... while real criminals don't have daily checks.... hmmmm
introducing a buyback program for all military-style assault rifles legally purchased in Canada, with fair market prices for owners and more resources for law enforcement to administer the program;
They have said the budget is less than $50,000,000.... less than $500 per firearm, I guess "fair market" means that since they are useless now they have no value.... Same as above too and "fair" value... LIbEral Lie 3
The PMO got very mad when the budget office said it would be $750,000,000+
working with provinces and territories to give municipalities the ability to further restrict or ban handguns; and
protecting the rights of hunters and farmers, by not bringing back the long-gun registry. Hunters and farmers do not use or need assault weapons.
Politicizing and giving municipalities the ability to restrict or ban legally owned personal property. I guess not a lie, just b.s.
"assault weapons" .... definition please, the semi automatic rifles on the OIC are used by hunters, farmers, target shooters etc. LIbEral Lie 4
C-71 .... there is a required transaction ID and a registry of transactions and a person called a registrar.... registry is back essentially Lie 5
To crack down on gun crime and make our communities safer places to live, we will:
continue to fight gang-related violence, by investing an additional $50 million each year, for five years, in a dedicated funding stream to help municipalities meet the needs of communities at risk;
work to expand successful diversion programs to keep at-risk youth out of the criminal justice system;
See video and actually spending.... repeat of Lies 1 and 2 **NOTE $50M to fight criminals, according to budget office over $750M to take them from the law abiding.
make sure the Canada Border Services Agency and Royal Canadian Mounted Police have the resources they need to detect and stop the flow of weapons at our borders;
require everyone importing ammunition to show proof of a valid firearms license;
make it harder for legal weapons to get into the hands of criminals by further strengthening safe-storage laws;
address the problem of gender-based and intimate-partner violence head on, by temporarily suspending firearms licenses for people who are suspected of posing a danger to themselves or others, including their partners or kids;
introduce a system for flagging bulk purchases of guns;
strengthen penalties for people seeking to smuggle firearms into Canada; and
limit the glorification of violence, by changing the way firearms are advertised, marketed, and sold in Canada.
Vague promises, items that already exist and twisted fiction .... not a lie but as close as you can get.

Look at the ad-then look at the comment "wrong hands" then look at the red arrow pointing at the hunter and at the sport shooter...............Does not take much imagination for a clueless person to associate the arrow pointing AT THEM TWO ,to be the "wrong hand".
RE:"together"
What do You think-what kind of possibilities the hunter or a sport shooter has to prevent guns getting in wrong hands anyway?(other then not selling it to anyone without a license?).
The ads wording itself is misleading!
How about the chances this is what they try to say(together -us, the Government and You, the Citizen ,can prevent guns getting in wrong hands = hunters and sport shooters).
Sounds more clear now?
At the end-to your question what picture to put there-how about posting a picture of some notorious murderer from the recent past(how about the N Scotia mass murderer, or picture of few convicted gang bangers from Toronto,or maybe the Norwegian butcher who killed up to 80 young innocents,or the Vegas killer???).
Life is a whole lot more complicated then to jump on a bandwagon without thinking for a sec.
At the end- those ,who's mind may can not be understood(here on this very Forum, or out there )because they try to say something ,which does not go along with the main stream flavour of the day..........are mostly outspoken, factually argumentative BUT in general respectful people. Contrarily to their annoyingly persistent/obnoxious/rude/name calling etc counterparts.
Just sit back,and watch...this Forum itslef is the mirror of that.
PS-there are always exceptions,but if You monitor closely,eventually You will see .........
I couldn't of said it better.
Thanks Guys, for taking the time and explaining it to him.
Real nice of you.:thumbup:
We lost our internet yesterday afternoon and only got it back this am. (Northern Tel)
Your post suggests the "red arrow" in the blog article was in the original government web page. It wasn't but was added by the blogger.
While not an unreasonable complaint that pictures of a hunter and sport shooter do not fairly represent who the "wrong hands" are the linked article also points out the offending picture has been removed from the government website in response to complaints from firearms owners.
MikePal I’m not sure providing ‘a vote for cash,’ really goes to the heart of the matter. History would suggest, that all the indigenous people seem to get from Conservative governments is mostly grief, and very little hope. Meanwhile from Liberal governments they usually get half baked promises with extensive date lines and piece meal attention, which appears at least to give them some degree of hope. A part from that, other parties that might give them the attention they crave are not likely to be given the opportunity to form government. The Liberals aren’t going out of their way to buy votes. They are simply providing a stimulus to unrequited hopes.
In a similar manner law-abiding firearm enthusiasts get strung a long by the Conservatives. The big difference is there are virtually no other political alternatives, although the PPC attempt to float one, again another party not likely to be given the opportunity to form government

The Indian act allowed the Indigenous to become dependant on government Welfare and in doing so they have never been allowed to develop themself as a self-sufficient society. So they, as you have said, became benefactors to the favours of the political parties of the day.
That doesn't explain anything to me and my opinion on the matter doesn't change at all. Complaining about stupidity and taken out of context imo.
I dont see anything wrong with what they had there.

Trudeau doing this only to get votes.
Stop arguing over the reasons that don't exist.
I wouldn't agree with this statement.
In case, you are not too familiar with proposed changes, please review here:

Yet for his old opponents, Harper seems to loom larger than life. The Liberals, now five years into their own government, cannot get him out of their heads. He serves as something of a demon figure for them, to be hauled out of the shadows and held up as a warning of how bad things could be, if they — the salvational Liberals — had not done the great work of defeating him.
Whenever they get in trouble — and that’s often, even daily lately — they often find a way to somehow blame it on Harper. When they want to damn one of his successors, Andrew Scheer or Erin O’Toole, they call them “Harper-lite.”
Actually I found it, but I had some problems when I initially tried to post it. Something to do with sizing, I've picked up another monitor and it's a few sizes larger that my old one, and there was some message about the spread of the thread. Thank you

Well the CBC says the Libs are for banning semi's
Another reason to vote CPC.... according to the Liberal's O'Toole will legalize assault rifles, it is screen shot right off their facebook page Conservative attack ad (usual lies and fear mongering).

Just a reminder to vote!
Vote wisely!
Might want to look at what Bill Blair said in his twitter and is quoted earlier in this thread and a reminder here is what CBC says about the parties.
