-He pledged $300 Million to the Rohingya Refugee crisis while we have a refugee crisis of our own flooding into Quebec that he won't address.

-He pledged $125 Million to Caribbean Reconstruction while our own infrastructure in cities is falling apart.

-He pledged $650 million to Sexual and Reproductive health in Haiti and around the globe wanting safer abortions for woman while many women in our own country are left without a family doctor.

-He has pledged $50 million to Palestine for flood relief when NB had some of the worst flooding in decades this past spring.

-He pledged $840 million to Syria for Humanitarian Assistance when half the native reserves in our country don't have clean drinking water.

-He gave $10.5 Million to a convicted...CONVICTED terrorist in a backroom deal that has lead to another $30.8 Million payed out for three other fellers who say they were wrongfully detained.

Pretty much... to paraphrase Orwell telling them the truth will get you hated. However if they want an honest debate there are 2 links to long lists of "issues" (well over 100) that were in the 2 Summary pages threads and there are a collection of the prime "issues" on the first page of this thread. Having reference material showing that the media or the Liberals lied like on page 1 is only useful to help persuade those that care about ethics, budgets, vets, honesty, accountability, openness, firearms, crime or any of the other issues that they are lying about repeatedly. Mark I respect and agree with you. But the two camps have become so entrenched that there is no way out. Trudeau will win, whether we like it or not. There are even gun owners / hunters on this site who openly support the banning of guns and support allowing criminals to be coddled. To many people are now collecting CERB or whatever they call it now and Trudeau has just announced that if he is re-elected he will continue it for the foreseeable future. People in my area are actually turning down jobs paying double the amount. Who is going to vote against the hand that feeds them. The average person doesn't even understand that at some point there will have to be massive increases unlike Canada has ever seen.

I fell between the CPC and PPC but closest to the PPC.

I was in the Military procurement process in the later phases of my career (PMO LAV and PMO LLAD) . I will categorically say it is NOT the Military side of the process wherein the problem lies. It's in the PWGSC (Public works). They are forced to inject the Federal Government into the process, they control the money.

The military tells PWGSC what they want and provides the specs. After that, who wins the contact is largely due to politics. The short of it, if your factory is in Canada, owned by a woman, indigenous or visible minority, in a riding that is in favour with the sitting government, your bid jumps to the head of the queue. There are all sorts of trade issues (or deals) the feds have made so they trump actually getting the best kit into the hands of the soldier in the field ...the lowest bidder, that has the most political boxes checked off ..wins.

Even with direct buy COTS (Commercial Off the Shelve) equipment (like these pistols) , the contracts have a lot of extra logistical costs, like training, manuals (in both official languages), spare parts and long-term support contracts that get tacked on to the original buy. That balloons to doubling and even tripling the contract cost in some cases.

It's a heck of a process and takes years in most cases to finally get the equipment delivered. I have worked with guys who were on projects for 4 yrs and were still years away from feilding the kit.
