Looking to get a card reader, so that I can my cards on my phone. I have an holder Samsung galaxyS6 ,

i know a few guys who grabbed one off amazon dont have any issues.
ive been meaning to get one but i just throw my laptop in the back of the truck and check them from there so i havent really had a reason to buy one yet.
i have 2 cams and 4 sd cards so i just switch out the cards when i go and then check the cards in my truck before i go home. (cause i just cant wait) haha
I bought this off amazon a few years ago and does the job. I have an android phone. It can read off my phone or my laptop....

I bought mine originally at the Dollarama for like 2 bucks, but they don't seem to have it anymore. I see lot's on Amazon for 10 bucks
Another suggestion if you about to order off of amazon, get some spare SD cards. We have 3 cameras out and we have 6 cards, we just swap the cards when we go out.
I bought one for my iPhone from Amazon. No complaints
I also bought a small card reader/viewing screen from Wildgame Innovations. The iPhone adapter is better.
I use a Stealth Cam CRV-43 SD card viewer. Sit on my ATV and check out the pics.
ordered one today from amazon, thanks for the info guys ,good humting
Well I got the card yesterday, finally got the pictures up ,tried another card with video on it .
Would not work ,wondering if I have to down load an app
No you should not have to download an app make sure the card is inserted well and make sure the USB your plugging into works.
You would go into file explorer and look where your drives are and should see a new one.
Remember some of younger guys can help you with this but what ever your plugging USB into have to have power for USB My iPad doesn’t
vlc is one of the best video players by far. i use it on my computer nad my phone. its able to play videos without studdering and if theres a problem with the video or audio it will play right through it in real time. it wont stop int he middle of a video like other video players and say video failed or something.
as for the other sd card not working, did you format it??? some cards come formated some dont at all, alot of the trail cams actually have a function to format sd card that is inserted. try that.
Does it harm sd cards to format them frequently. I like saving decent photos and reformatting the card each use so new photos are easier to find. I've always been told to make sure you power off your trail cam before removing the sd card as well.
No, but it's not going to make your pictures any better either.
I generally just do a quick format, unless I am formatting to do a new install of Windows.
A Quick Format is quick. To make the formatting process quick, the drive is not checked for bad sectors. Anyone looking at the hard drive or storage device would not see any data and assume the drive is erased. ... A Full Format runs an additional step that checks the hard drive for any bad sectors.
Don't really know what I did ,but all seems fine. See what happens next time.
Thanks for the input guys, that's why I like this site, people always ready to help.
I actually switched out my cards today, for some reason it wouldn't take my other SD card right away, I had to eject it and insert it once or twice, first time that happened to me but still ended up working. Good luck on the photos.
