Of course they are. While we are back at camp having lunch they are having a snack as well.

Most deer that I’ve shot were taken in the morning, but when you’re hunting rutting bucks, one can walk by at anytime.
Morning for me to mostly, I have seen mostly fawn's out in sunny days in my food plots.
I’ve done better in the evening for whatever reason. But deer are taken all day long so the longer your out the better your chances
I've shot a lot of my favorite deer mid day.....they're my favorite because I can get have up on the block and tackle in the barn and skinned before supper :)
Deer hunting is my holidays away from home so I spend every legal minute out hunting.
I shoot whenever given an opportunity but prefer first thing in am. It’s just easier to take care of things.
My harvests have been all in the morning hours. The biggest buck to date was taken at 11:00 am.
I was just getting ready to climb down off of my stand on Manitoulin Island. Others in our group through out the years have harvested deer at various times during the afternoon but I haven't.
Any time in the stand is never a bad thing no matter the time of day
I walked into a doe and fawn at about 3pm in the middle of a field.
Also had a doe run at me through fog the other week maybe around noon. Theyre around for sure.
Just a matter of being in the right spot! lol

3:30 is hottest time here till end of day. But also anytime of day have taken deer
Evenings my most productive. Most mornings are TV, woodstove and hot coffee.
deer are active when you bump them :P
but other than the rut, dusk and dawn seem to be the time you see them at a patternable time
My observations have been that they need to stretch their legs every 3 - 4 hours. During the daylight hours they are under cover but will browse a bit on green leaves and foliage. They will not wander far unless bumped out of the area. Running dogs will do that for sure.
If you are a solo hunter it is good to have a small food plot or feed in the bush located not too far from their traditional bedding area. They will eventually come in for a midday snack.
Yes ! Absolutely ! We do seem to take more deer in the morning but have done well in the afternoon also. Come to think of it.... we have never shot a deer that was wearing a watch... mmmmmmmmmmm ?
