Camp report day 1
Well due to a leg injury i am not actually at camp this year but my BIL, nephew and a buddy are.
5 minutes into first light my buddy was just placing the sights on a doe when he noticed movement off to the side in a fence row. Sure enough an 8 point stepped out hot on her trail and buddy dropped him with his 6.5 Swede at 60 yards.

About 2 minutes after that my nephew dropped a spike on a food plot about 1/2 mile from my buddy.

So while not actively participating i am living vicariously through the lads for now. I did however manage to get to camp for brunch and a shot of whisky around the woodstove between 1030 and 100 pm. Might pay for that later but just could not stay away.

love that the swede is being used still. what a great deer round.
glad youre still in on the action, even if you cant hunt you can hang. its what i love the most about the deer gun hunt anyways.

That a nice morning, glad you got a chance to be part of it. (had a drink with them) I know I could not keep away.

Right on. Nice you could still make it to camp and hang out

The socializing is most of the fun! Glad you could tolerate some organic painkiller. Better days ahead Joe!
