I am looking for a Jiffy auger mechanic. It won't start and not sure why. Put in new gas and checked the plug. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. Would like to get it fixed before the ice season.

Have u been running regular gas in it?
If so, thats ur problem - the ethanol eats the inside of ur plastic gas lines and clogs up the carb with that crap.
I had to get my Rapala overhauled - the repair guy had to clean my carb 5 times before he got all the crud from the hoses out of my carb.
U have to use premium gas that doesn’t have any ethanol in it.
I
I only run premium with the Amsoil stabilizer and never had issues before. Would any small mechanic be able to service the carb?
Yes any small motor person should be able to redo the carb.
Some Supreme gas also have 5% ethanol. Yes any Mechanic can fix it. You don't need to take it to a "Special Shop". Just like any good Mechanic can fix a Ford and you don't have to go top a Ford Dealership
Your gas filter could also be blocked infact your fuel line could be cracked. Who knows until it's taken apart.
Apart from a plugged up carb, I had to replace the rubber diaphram and needle valve and seat. They go bad after a number of years. If the diaphram gets to hard it won't ativate the needle valve and allow gas to flow.
Try putting gas directly into the carb and see if it will fire. If it does you know for sure it's fuel related. You could even try quick start but don't use too much, it's pretty volatile. When you said you checked the plug did you just look at it or did you actual check to see if it was a good strong blue spark?
I use Sea Foam in my regular gas on all my small engines and never had a problem stays clean and they all restart every year after being pit away for the winter.
Cleans the engines and eliminates any water and ethanol.
X2^^^ I put a few ounces of Seafoam in my jerrycans . Premixed or Straight gas… Done no problems!

It might be cheaper and faster to just order a carb/fuel line kit off Amazon and replace it yourself. I have done this for a chainsaw and string trimmer, and it was pretty easy. The kits can be had for pretty cheap, if they sell the right one for your machine.
On all my small engines, 2 stroke or 4, I run them out of gas so that there is no fuel in the lines or carb during long term storage. Turn the fuel valve off or empty the tank so there is just enough fuel to start them and let them just idle until they stall. Never have to worry about a gummed up carb doing this.
Thank you for all the replies. I am going to take it to a small engine repair shop in town and get it a running. After that i will make sure i put the fuel treatment in the fuel and only use the non ethanol fuel.
