My daughters dog almost sleeps under the wood stove at the camp.
My yellow lab has her bed in front of the fireplace. I noticed her panting one night so thought I'd move it further away so she wouldn't be so warm. Next morning it was back in its original spot, she moved it back during the night!

My dog also loves laying in the sun ray coming in the window.
I remember one night having to go pick up one of my hounds that was close to 6 miles away from our camp. Was still able to get a reading on here collar. Finally got to the front door of this log cabin and knocked. This elderly gentleman opened the door and said I guess you're here to pick up your dog. He asked me in and there she was curled up in front of the fireplace. He said she's been fed and I remarked I'm guessing between the food and the heat she doesn't want to leave. They all started to laugh. I almost had to put a leash on her to get her out of there...
Just something about the heat from a fireplace and dogs. They're like a magnet.... I do like the color of a chocolate lab... She's a beauty...
