Lets talk straight numbers once ,in this ,far and wide drawing out political debate(and many times needlessly drawn out with-I am just not letting go ,because someone has to do it approach).
Lets talk hard numbers.


PC has-eliminated 2% of our Tax burden.We are from 15 % total tax,down to 13%. Harper.
Liberals have merged HST and PST in Ontario-eventhough it was opposed by great majority of Ontarians. This tax costs all of us,day after day, where before we did not have to pay GST on many items,now we do ,thru HST. Mc Guity.

PC has eliminate the costly and greatly opposed Gun Registry. Harper
Liberals brought it in. Cost Canadians(us ) untold amount of money-which we will all pay back ,like it or not. Chretien

Liberals are ramping up Taxation thru Carbon tax(never find out-how the tax will actually help the issue-but for sure cost us all a lot of money)

Pitch in -with hard numbers, where any of the major parties helped the Tax paying-working Canadians keep more of their hard earned money.
Lets see-who looks after the financial interest of the hard working folks,by letting them(us)keep more of it-for our own needs.

Leave the "soft"benefits-just talk money.

The Conservative anti-tax brigade is spending $43 billion on tax giveaways this year, a new report estimates.

A Parliamentary Budget Office report released Tuesday examined changes to Canada’s tax system between 2005 and 2013 for personal incomes taxes and the GST/HST. It found that the accumulation of cuts since 2005 will reduce federal personal income tax revenues this year by an estimated $17.1 billion and the federal share of the GST/HST revenue by $13.3 billion.


Their numbers and spin and anti-Harper fiction makes for an amusing article, IF you like keeping your own money and think those that work for it deserve it. Seems like motivation to NOT vote for the left if you work hard and think you earned it, the ones that don't work hard and the left think you should give it to the government and hate Harper for letting people get caught up or get ahead.


Well don't forget that Harper changed the pensions MP contribution and requirements. Under the old system the contributions were less than 1/2 after the change and we see that some of the MPs like Maryam Monsef DIDN'T get their pension because of the changes Harper made. IF Trudeau had waited I think it was 6 more weeks they would have got their pensions, shows how much he watches out for his MPs.

We see Trudeau violating ethics rules, lying and spending $250,000 to go on a vacation to the Agha Khan island and who knows how much more and millions on renovations at the residences.


Then there is the budgets and we see the Libs doubled the debt and even their promise to balance the deficit in 2019 was a lie.

Inflation just hit 5.1 percent and its only going to get worse not better lol.

Everyone is paying more for less in a time when the people are in need of help. But don't worry thought the government has its best interests in the Canadians who are already struggling.

I did not know this-when I arrived to Canda,there was already GST set at 7 %.

The PC started to bring it down-from 7 to 5%!
I remeber that one.They did it in two stages.

They placed it-then they started to decrease it!

I am wondering ,where the GST of 5 % would be,if Harper stays.
I am wondering also-where it will be,soon.

Well you can see the lying propagandists at PressProgess lamenting the loss of government income (people getting to keep some of their money) and there was an MP that wanted to raise it to help pay the debt. The Carbon tax just seems to be their replacement for increasing the GST, for now.

Considering Canadians born here are not inclined to raise children our population is getting low, more baby boomers are retiring, who do you think will be looking after you and contributing taxes to keep the social security net running, you know things like CPP and OAS and GIS.

Looking for a cancer Doctor or specialist you will probably be meeting a Doctor originally from Persia or China, need a nurse soon, probably be a girl from the Philippines, need granny looked after in the nursing home, same. Unless you have been in a vacuum for the past several decades Canada has changed and for the better.

Don't forget you live in one of the most ethnic areas of Canada with some of the highest % of new residents. If you go outside of Peel / GTA you will find many multi-generational Canadians doing the lower wage service jobs you suggested we need immigrants for.

There is truth to the dropping population growth. Most people I know have one or two kids maximum. Apparently it’s too much of a financial burden to have more, if any. Also, couples are having children much later in their lives for reasons of career stability.

Part of the reasons Canadians don't have as many kids is the high taxes. taxes did go lower for awhile under Harper but under Trudeau were well over 30% increase.

I welcome with open arms immigrant families who strive to come to Canada and are willing to work to become useful parts in our diverse society.
My big problem at times is those who arrive here from different areas of the world that are in conflicts, wars whether military or gang related as well as programs of ethnic cleansing, and bring their idealogy with them as well as their hate, and then instead of becoming a much needed part of a somewhat healthy society instead continue with the same B.S. that they were supposedly escaping from.
Ideas from other cultures such as Sharia law, feminist domination or Caste systems are at this time unacceptable in our society as they should be and instead of trying to bring these ideals here it is important for immigrants in my opinion to assimilate and become part of Canada, not make Canada a satellite of the hell they wanted out of.

Problem is that such basic common sense has flown the coop. No one has the spine to even utter these truths, let alone stand up for them. This is how countries fall. Look at history.

Also it's not immigration per se, but rather mass immigration & lack of assimilation that's the issue. Don't get sucked into this trap by the left -- "if you are critical of mass immigration you are racist!" It's a cheap way to sabotage and avoid the adult discussion.

I live south of Bancroft for 6 months of the year, I know all the locals in my small hamlet and have been comin here hunting and fishing for over 25 years, I attend church socials, senior clubs, legion dances, I hunt with locals. So please do not try to peg me as a city guy who does not know what life is like in the country.

Its not just lower wage jobs, we need all the Doctors, engineers, nurses from abroad. America is goin to be short some 220,000 registered nurses. Canada is short about 60,000 nurses right now. It looks like multi generational Canadians do not want to or are unwilling to take the needed training. So we will end up with nurses from the Philippine's who will come as nurses aid's, get trained by our nurses and stay.
Its not their fault they are willing to come and work, its the fault of nobody willing to train for the job here.

I agree and have stated here in the past that any immigrant here should be given two years to get established. After that time you should go in front of a Citizenship Judge and the first question should be "What have you done for Canada since you came here"

Based on the answer to that question you get your chance to stay. Needless to say if all you have done is acquired a criminal record and been on welfare since you came, your chances just went out the window.
The religious freedom thing I have no problem with but Sharia Law would be a no starter, you swear allegiance to Canada.

Well I do not believe we are into mass immigration because if we were the 6.9 millian Syrian refugees that are scattered thought Jordanian refugee camps, Turkey, Greece, would all have been allowed over here. Here is all these people displaced by a dictator, lost all they have, been gassed and that is just one country's population that need's our help 2.2 million Syrians are Christians.

Totally agree with you on the religion, my issue is with any RADICAL religious elements bringing over their brand of extremism and forcing it on other newer immigrants that might still be living in fear of retribution over here and to family members still in their homeland.
If you think this is not a reality in our world today you have your head up your midsection.
It is almost impossible today with technology and travel compared to 70 years ago for any country to try to be an isolated society and insulate themselves from the big bad monsters that are on the other side of the world.
