We put up at least 6 woodcock this afternoon in London. Those were the ones I saw, the dogs may have put up more in the woods. Its about 7-10 days earlier than I normally see them around here. Anyone else seeing them?

Haven't been out with the dogs yet waiting till things start to soften up. Good to hear they made it up already been following reports on their progress north
2ft of snow still Northern limits Kawartha Lakes
There's no open ground around here (GTA north), they'll starve if they come here now.
May be we'll see them after a couple of the forecasted warm and sunny days next week.

Looking good there. Hoping to make a run Friday
This evening I was watching the hundreds of geese, swans, ducks and cranes coming to roost in a pond behind my home. At dusk I heard a woodcock peenting and then performing its mating flight. In the next couple of weeks I will hear up to 6 birds every evening from my backyard.
Got the dogs out for a run today. Close to home running the 407 corridor. With developement not much left that resembles woodcock habitat but I guess when migrating any port in the storm. Found about a dozen birds staged in the remaining shurbery. Spring has sprug go forth and propigate.
Glad you had a good day. :)
We were out shed hunting in Markham, and our dog put a few timberdoodles up. It was nice to see as I haven’t encountered many before
My Brittany pointed a bunch yesterday just west of Milton
